SIA cabin crew
hello
hey everybodyy,,
im thinking of going for the recruitment exercise as well. Prob on the 21st. Having the jitters now because i've read about how stringent these interviews are...
can anyone provide me more info about the swim test? I read somewhere tht you would be asked to jump from a mock plane (at six storeys high), with a lfe jacket on, and to paddle to safety. Can anyone verify this?
I really need to know because i cannot swim. And i'm not exactly that confident in water either. So im guessing that this might be my pitfall.
anw, any info bout this is greatly appreciated. thanks peeps.. =)

Re: hello
6 stories high? That's really high and that is like jumping off a moving plane in mid air?mouismoo wrote:can anyone provide me more info about the swim test? Height is roughly 4m from the plane to the bottom of the pool with your lifevest on, you're expected to swim over to the other end of the pool.

I can't swim but can only backstroke.
I was the most afraid of the water confidence as well. But its not as scary as u think.
This coming frm me! a Gurl who was so scared and CAN't swim UNAIDED. Haha.
trust me. Its not so bad. Here, read my post about it.
Its on page 15 of SIA recruitment on 4th March.

Hi Flying,
if you think you are qualify and have "O" level cert or Diploma cert?
i dont think thats any reason of why you are not going. moreover,
you are still thinking whether to go on that day 21st? if i will you,
i wont hesitate no more. just go and try.
we dont know our luck yet till when we go there. not like you, im
still hesitating and thinking wanting to dare to go and try for SIA
or not. cuz im not qualify at all.

I've read it. Eased my discomfort a little but im still jittery. I've never had any training in swimming, so my backstroke will prob look like arms flapping for survival. haaha.
I like it when you say this "The vest will bring us up almost immediately." Im trying to use this to convince myself that i will surface. FAST. haaha. i guess, there's no use worrying about the water confidence test yet. man,i haven't even went for the first round yet. Sheesh.

Re: hello : )
don't be so stressed! the water confidence test barely lasts 5 minutes. you have a lifevest on and you'll float in the pool, all you have to do is paddle and kick your way across and it'll be over.kristen wrote:everythings' going smoothly for me..d water confidence round is just stucked in my head.. mixed emotions..am a little afraid and worried..but at the same time, i know it be over real quick. i guess i have to just go n try it out.. : ) anyways, im still in d process of loosing weight.haha. just need to trash 5 kg out from my body. lol.n i think i be fine. i dun want to strain myself because im afraid i'll look saggy n droopy.espec my neck!!haha.
