It was Miss toes who called the interviewers unprofessional & nasty. Not Kirsten.

Hmm... Read properly yeah.

Kirsten only asked the Qn. Haha.
So it was but then of course with the amount of grade A garbage you posted in between it was only too easy to forget that.

The amount of Grade A garbage was also posted by Miss Toes.
Guess she was a lil too excited. :???:

Who's the 'you' you're refering to?

So u made it thru at the 6 & 7 Jan recruitment batch? How did ur final management interview go? Coz i got rejected at that round of interview...not in the Jan recruitment batch i mean but a later recruitment. Did many get rejected during ur batch?

Was really really disappointed...am not very sure is it becoz of my notice period that is at the end of this yr since i'll only be graduating then. Have any idea is it a norm if SIA would actually hold the post for someone till they grad? Or they rather get sumone who's available for work like almost immediately? R u currently working btw?

Thanks!
Haha firstly michael's not my name. i just couldnt register mine, so that came up. Hi, my name's wayne..

Mmm my final management interview went pretty well, it was very much like the 1 to 1 interview. just that a little more serious, its with the higher management afterall. questions are all about the same, determining whether you have the right mindset for the applied job.

M was in my batch, still trying to get in touch with him.. erm, i think 2 got kicked at the management round. the rest managed to go on with medical.

Regarding holding the post, that im really not sure. but ur notice is really long :? Maybe you never know, they would have a record of your particulars and the next time u try again, with shorter notice, it would be easier? haha just a thought. Really, there's no worries. since you havent graduated, there's plenty of chances to go at it again. and all you had gain is the experience. Cheers! :)
Oh, ur name's Wayne. Hi Wayne! :)

Firstly, thanks for ur reply. So was it a man and a lady who interviewed u during the management round?

Yeah, i understand my notice is kinda long. But then, i prefer they would have told me not to apply from the very beginning since i made it clear that my notice period would be at the end of the year. So just kinda down after all the high hopes and stuff...but it's ok, slowly getting over it. Hehe.
As you said, it was a good experience.

So when's training gonna start for u? Wish u all d best for the training... i'm sure u'll enjoy it!

miss-toes wrote:they went : " you memorized one ah?" but it was a there-and-then ans frm me. i told 1 of em no, i didnt. and she showed it on her face tt she wasnt too happy shes wrong abt it.

you dont tell the interviewee off. even when you being the interviewer FEEL that ur candidate memorized the whole chunk. :) yes, im quite unhappy over it but i'd try again. hopefully, better luck nextime.
You have every reason to expect such behaviour from an interviewer. Why? Because you're interviewing for what is essentially a customer service position. And I'm sure they want to see how you'd react to someone being less than kind towards you. I could be wrong but judging from your post, i doubt if you covered up your displeasure towards the interviewers. And that would have certainly affected your chances of success.

But what if the interviewers were really being vindictive and nasty? Well, it's really too bad for interviewees like you, nothing to do except to suck it up and plod on. Saying that they shouldn't tell the interviewee off is meaningless, since they are both judge and jury as far as your future in the company is concerned. Learn from this and make sure you react correctly the next time. I'd love to smile and say that there are still plenty of chances, and this is really directed to everyone in general, but the reality is that every time you get rejected is one less chance you have in becoming an CC.

Thank you Jencrs; one tactic often used in airline interviews is to provoke people. When you show your displeasure or annoyance at being asked what I can only assume may or may not be personal questions your application is doomed. This something I am not too good at and one reason I would never apply for such a job myself; I am actually really impressed with the way so many of the cabin crew manage to keep their cool given the range of different and tricky situations they encounter. By the way Kirsten84 I was winding you up so the mistake about Miss-toes was a bonus. :P

hmm seriously plavt i'm still tickled by your replies be it to me or to the others. i guess it wasn't meant to be that way huh? anyway chill it yeah? keep your cool no matter what it is. even if u r not in the service line but to lose your cool when attacked verbally shows how much composure and maturity you have when handling a tight situation. tsk tsk no go for a quick tempered person ya know? once again i'm not against u or anyone but just voicing my humble opinions if that is allowed in this forum? if it is not please feel free to inform me. i'm cool abt it

anyway back to miss toes, i may have missed it or i'm blind? but did u really show your displeasure to the interviewers? i got a lady interviewer and she was really nice. telling me about how her singapore girl icon got slammed. that was why we chatted for quite a long while. another girl with me got 2 interviewers; 1male 1female and she got thru as well. :)

That shows just how clever you are, I never said I lose my temper, that is just your wild interpretation and for your information I have worked in the service line more years than you have had hot dinners, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it! As for maturity you don't appear to have any which is obvious by your assumptions and bigoted points of view.

Kristin. If it was you that mentioned holding down the life vest.. i did encounter this point that you've to hold on, or rather hold down your vest when plunging into the pool.. its gonna be bad if the vest slips out due to the impact. Backstrokes, hand paddle.. whatever that gets you over to the other end would be fine. Just dont show signs of panicking.

Have fun at the pool tmr. wishing for good weather for u! (and myself.. i've got driving :P )
