SIA cabin crew
hello
Congrats to those who gt selected !!! : )) HAPPY flying & take good care!!
i have a question for those who got selected..are u guys able to speak foreign languages or experienced in customer service? i am really afraid because i do not know any foreign languages and have never worked in my life..for the exception of "holiday jobs"..like selling christmas cards n stuff..i be graduating in january..will only get my diploma cert in february..so i guess i'll work in some customer service line..i am very sure that the interviewers will ask questions like whether i have any knowledge in customer service..it be a total waste if i say NO..i am sure once i reply NO, they might nt be interested to continue with the interview...lol..cuz its stated clearly that PREFERENCE will be given to candidates who are able to speak foreign languages or are experienced in customer service..
THANKS alot, xmischax. thank you for the assurance. : ))

Likely those who are selected are those who have the minimum requirement in terms of quali and height. You must have 5 Os or a diploma cert if you do have possess the 5Os credit. SIA will looked at the highest qualification that you have.
As for the height. I think you should noe that you have to be 158 and above. But there's always this norm i heard. They tend to choose the taller girls if they can. But it does not mean that if u're below 160 ur chance is lesser. So it all depend on ur luck.

Yupz, EK is Emirates, yah? The thought of living in Dubai. Arrgh!! You get hit on a lot by the men there, even at the hotel swimming pool, or especially at the hotel swim pool!! I didn't like the responsibility being a Leading crew. IFS is "Inflight Supervisor" but we used to tease our team boy, Titus Roy, by saying he is an "IFS"(Indian Flight Steward). Haha.corines143 wrote:Hey are u a gal ? ?
but you can try other airlines like EK they are looking for ppl and their remuneration package is much better... try it out!!
why didnt u want to be Leading SS ?
and what is IFS?
Aspire to inspire before you expire.

i can speak french, and i`ve been working in the customer service line since i graduated from sec sch in dec2005.
don`t worry so much, be confident in yourself and give it a try! they state that they prefer candidates who can speak foreign languages and are experienced in customer service, but they did not say that you have to fulfill that criteria. i`m sure not all stewardesses are able to speak foreign languages too, it`s just an advantage. so don`t worry so much, as long as you meet the minimun requirements, go for it! the more you worry, the less confident you are. and when it comes to interviews, confidence is very important. if you don`t even think that you yourself will make it, how can you convince the recruiters that you are the one they are looking for, right?

$4400???!!!! 16 days???!!! how many years ago was that? Its now 8 days TPE-LAX and the allowance is not even half of $4400.. Lucky u..ryanstarr wrote:Er...we been there and done that already. Longest flight I went for was 16 days-Taipei-LA and can't remember where else, but it was SQ 16.. That month, I earned my highest ever salary in my life, S$4,400. In the Maldives, I caught sharks from the beach using a handline(nite time), rode camels in Cairo, Egypt ;sailed in Karachi, Pakistan during the Gulf War and went rafting in Kathmandu, Nepal. Nowadays, $2000 from Tiger and riding the MRT to work everyday makes me the happiest person... SQ the best? Well...perhaps. My big bro is a Captain on the B777.corines143 wrote:hi
