You will be donning on a lifevest. Basically the requirement for SQ is water confidence. Do you panic when dumped into a 3m pool. I highly advise you learn swimming. It's not as strict like other airlines on this component.

Are you saying you cannot swim? I ask because there seems to be a language issue here given the times that has been said in previous posts and what was said by DoveLady in response to my question.

The simple fact is; you have to be able to swim at least 25m this is to enable you to get away from the aircraft as when it sinks as it would eventually in open seas you will be sucked under with it.

I do not know how to swim meaning that I can't swim without anything to support to eg. life vest or float. However I'm able to paddle and move around in the water if I have something to support to. Hope this can clarify the issue.

Then take toygirl's and my advice learn to swim, only being capable of what you mention above is no use to most airlines, not only do you need to be able to save yourself you would have the added hazard of panicking passengers. As I say so many times plan your application and take your time no sense in rushing to the next recruitment session the minute you see it advertised in the newspaper, there will be plenty more of them given the high staff turnover. Give it about six months and you could have a better chance than many others.

BCG mark is on the upper arm right? It should not be a factor as they will only check for VISIBLE scarring when you're wearing the kerbaya. And the kerbaya top is 3-quarter-sleeved so it shouldnt show. so no worries on that! =)

Water confidence - Please bear in mind you sign a INDEMNITY form before you jump into the pool - If you die, drown SIA is not liable. The worst case scenario is your life vest does not work - Then you're screwed big time. I remember donkey years ago my friend went for that round and everyone snatched the good life vests leaving those lousy ones! So yeah, always good to know how to swim!

hi corines and nita~~ i will be going for this walk in interview too. i am also 20 this year but simply have no confidence in my figure. sighz. 164/54kg. i think i actually look quite big size. went for the interview on oct but got booted out from the 1st round. but nevertheless, have got myself more prepare this time and will keep up with the never say die attitude if i happen to fail again. *touch wood*

-Read my post... what I said is that I HAVE seen Thai, Korean, Hong Kong nationals and Japanese crews... which is what I'm trying to back up my point that SQ ONLY employs Asians... even if you do NOT hold a Singapore/Malaysian passport...

So if anyone can tell me that they've seen a blue-eyed, blonde hair girl in Kebaya, then I stand corrected...

Hey crewbe, I think we're in the same boat. I attended the interview somewhere Sept n got booted out after the 1st round. I consider myself not fat but big frame with broad shoulder, n I'm on the 168/53kg package. I really wonder if SQ prefer small n petite girls? As I notice girls who managed to get thru to kebaya round are pretty thin n skinny. Anyone mind to clarify this? Please advice.

queue's ususally start before 9am so if you really want to try and finish before 12am, go even earlier than 9am to register. i registered about 10am and finished about 1plus in the recent recruitment. But its really hard to say cos it depends on how fast the interviews go. Go earlier, then you might have a shot at finishing before 12. Go before 9am!! =)

Your query caught my attention.

I can assure u that ur weight & height is a fine combination. I gotten through all rounds. My weight is 53.5kg too & my height is 166cm only. During the kebaya round, the interviewers are judging u on the way u walk, ur overall posture, how u look (gotta shine them with million dollar smile) in the uniform as well as ur skin condition. There is not true that they r into small & petite girls only.

SIA already standardized all crews with the same look by grooming them in the same make-up, same uniform, same hairstyle (the bun) and etc.. Can't imagine they wanna standardized the size as well Omg, it will be so dull

The bottom line is, there could b other reasons for them to boot u out. U may wanna reflect how u performed on that day so that u can try 2 improve on yourself for the next walk-in on 12 Nov .

Don't ever give up on ur dream.

no there is no age limit but of cos you know you have to look presentable. appear youthful and got good complexion as well.
how old r you anyway? i got friends who are 28 - 33 who got in sia... so no probs. just be confident and keep smiling thats the trick
