i've to say that they do have the record bout the candidates but they wont know how many times u've been trying for..i got to know a girl and she had tried for almost 6 times but in her appl form she never mentioned bout it and they never know bout it...so dun worry bout it.it doesnt matter how many times u try.as long as u never give up then u can try up to ten times...haha

i guess there's no wrong to have another try though u've been booted out during the kebaya session on ur 1st try..
perhaps u might be able to go tru all the rounds for the coming recruitment rite..who knows!maybe u're a lil lack of luck during tat day and here comes the golden opportunity for u to have a second try!!
i'll always say 'YES' to all the applicants who doubt to try again due to the failure they encontered b4...go for it!do not have any doubt!!!

Do they truly keep records of how many times you've tried? Or would they ask somewhere along the interview process?

sorry unable to pm you...but i would be going...

Water Confidence Test 18 Oct

anyone went for 18th October's? Please share the procedure and elimination rate...Thankyou in advance!
Hey there...

I went for the 18th Oct Water Confidence Test .. there were 40 of us and only 4 got eliminated. The reasons why those 4 were eliminated were not given and according to the lady who conducted it, there are no quotas whenever they conduct interviews. It depends on the quality of the applicants.

With regards to the previous post, on how to get to CLC, you can either
1) take a cab there,
2) take bus from tanah merah / bedok.
Would suggest that if taking cab, don't bother trying to get one from bedok or tanah merah.. cos the queue is amazingly long.. As for bus, its bus 2 or 24. If you take bus from tanah merah, a good timing would be around 8am from the bustop heading towards the direction of tampines. (From the control station, go down escalator, turn right) Keep a look out for this sign saying "STC" on your right. Then you alight.

Will walk to the security post and change your IC for a pass, after which, can just ask for directions from the security guards there. You should walk towards your right, go through a carpark and see this tall building in front of you. Just gather around at the lobby area and when most are there, someone will bring you all to CLC. Oh changing of the pass might take a while so give yourself some buffer time.

We were ushered to the theaterette and indemity forms were collected and everyone is numbered according to alphabetical order. (I was the last!!) Then we were brought to the pool area and told to change into swimwear. Height n weight were taken, we were briefed on life vest and 1-20 started first. It was very simple, just dun be afraid to jump into the pool. Its a water confidence test, not a swim test. So there were some non-swimmers who got through too. After which someone checked our arms and complexion. Results were then announced immediately.

However the lady did say that they always change their assesment methods and sequence so what happened on 18th might not be exactly the same as the upcoming one. But yea.. hope this was of use. Be confident!! =)

Quota for air stewardess

Post by missphish » Fri, 20 Oct 2006 2:45 am

Hey starry,

thanks! Very happy that i got through so far too.. heh hopefully i'll clear the remaining rounds too.. keeping my fingers crossed cos i have heard of cases where people get eliminated during management interviews..

and yes, the lady said that there isn;t a quota to hit. No doubt, i do think that they are in need of flight attendants cos they have ordered quite a number of planes apart from A380. BUT they are still stringent cos it concerns their reputation and they would not want to tarnish the image of the Singapore Girl. So its cos of quality check n not cos of quota that they eliminate people. Personal opinion.

I have no idea but maybe they just want to ensure that everyone fits the requirements. either that or maybe the data is not passed over to the recruitment personel over there at STC? But the weighing machine at STC took off 2kg from my usual weight.. height wise no diff..

cowie

to all applicants..

Post by shrapnel » Fri, 20 Oct 2006 3:52 pm

dear all,
the passing rate for the mgmt round is rather high..during my batch, only bout 4-5 being eliminated.basically, once u passed the round, they'll ask u to fill in another application form for m'sian(work permit) and a medical checkup form.i went to the medical checkup right after the interview with few others candidates.during this round, like wat i've post recently all u need is to be confi but humble n answer all the questions promptly.smile and watch out ur body language, the way u sit and present.

bout the one to one interview, all u need to prepare is bout current issues, criteria being an air stewardess, job of an air stewardess,ur strengths n weaknesses of urself..hope all these info might help u gals...good luck ya!!!

love,
shrapnel

hey ppl!!!

i'm sorry but i beg to differ from what sharpnel just said.. during my mgmt interview, there 11 of us in my panel... only 6 made it thru to the tea party and then 1 got eliminated.. whereas in the other panel of 11, 9 or 10 made it thru.. So dun think that the same amount of ppl will make it thru each time... It realli is all up to the interviewers..

As to wat to expect during the interview.. Be prepared to smile as soon as you reach STC... questions will range from personal to general...

Examples
'Tell me more about your family?'
'Why do you want to fly for SIA and not another airline?'
'Do you know what being a flight attendant is about?'
' How do you handle difficult customers'
'Have you ever applied before?'
'Why do you think you did not get in previously?' For those who have.
'Why did you not apply before?' For those who have not

Yea.. These are some of the ques they ask but the list is not exhaustible ... just a few that i came across.. Best of luck to everyone...

Hi... congrats to those who got in...
I would like to know the dress code for the swim test. Did most of you wear formal or casual?
Also, did most of you wear one piece or two piece swim suit?
thanks.

Waiting time for Malaysians

Post by blizz1209 » Fri, 20 Oct 2006 8:49 pm

Hi,
Any Malaysians can share with me what's the typical waiting time 4 SIA 2 get those employment pass/work permit done? How long they take 2 process for Malaysians? What is the typical waiting period from the walk-in till the notification of training date?

Thanx in advance
