The next intake will be in Oct??Woah dats really fast! But it seems like since they are so strict for the interviews dis time round,I'm betting they shd be somewhat alike in Oct too?Darn...I still can't get over the fact dat I couldn't proceed to the kebaya fitting coz I'm juz 1 miserable cm short of their min height...*sighx*
1cm is kinda easy, skipping really helps. just skip for at least 30mins everyday. but oct sld be able to grow that 1 cm, jia you!!

Hi ntyj

I managed to get thru all the rounds on Sunday walk-in.. as usual the elimiation rate for the kebaya is quite high.. they choose 2 out of 10 in my previous group but lucky for my group, they chose 6..but the elimination rate is still high..
I be going for the swin test on 4th Sept. the letter stated the swim test held in SIA sports club. can I check if u previously went to sports club for swim test or STC? and if yes, how deep is the pool tis time? is it the same layout as the one in STC?

thanks

Is any1 scheduled to attend the water confidence test on 29/30 August? From the previous threads,i have noticed there'll be skin checks and psychometric test. Is this round with high passing rate? Will we be informed if we are selected for the next round straight after the session? Usually how soon will be the next round, ie: management?

I went 4 the walk-in on the 1st day. It's really scary 2 see that SIA eliminates people like nobody's business, they r so strict. Am feeling so worried and stress. Sigh...

Any1 is willing 2 share some experiences or on the same boat with me?

Thanks in advance.

I noticed that the Lancome Beautician was on the 1st day of interview at the Kebaya stage...
so im not sure if the same lady will be present during the skin check conducted during your swim rd,
all i can say is...be it whether is it she or some other beautician,
ur skin will be assessed again(u will jump off from a mock plane(2m) and swim across and proceed to a well lit room..)

thereafter for those who passed the swim rd(results be out after ur quick shower), will proceed to take your psychometric test on the same day.

with regards to whether the passing rate is high or low? it really depends,
i knew of intakes where very little girls are eliminated.....but the recent july intake, most swim rds they eliminate abt 50%...
so be prepared and don be shocked with how they select...

during my rds.....the prettiest, gd posture, porcelain smooth face, tall, elegant ladies can be out too...whereas i had acne and a little puffy eyes on that day....i manage to pulll thru...hmm...its jus weird...

and the mgmt interview is usually arranged within a week's time? on a week day...
my swim rd was on monday.....and the mgmt interviews were on the same week(tuesday, wednesday and friday)

Basically everyone will be divided, split according to how soon u can begin training? lets say...ure unemployed, ur mgmt interview will be sooner den those who required 1-3 mths notice to resign from their current job....
in other words, they will give the earlier slots of mgmt rd to those who are unemployed as they can start their training immediately.... get it?

gd luck!

Dear ntjy,
hi,thanks so much 4 the info. Am currently employed, will only b available at the end of Oct. That's why i m quite concerned that how i should arrange my resignation. Anyway, truly thank u 4 the time & effort 2 reply me.
Were u at the 1st day interview? At the kebaya, there was a lady looking at everyone's face under a small & bright lamp,am not sure was that the beautician. Hehe..
Btw,if i m unable 2 attend the mgt date that they offer, will they bother 2 arrange another date for me? So scared 2 ask 4 changes,am worried that once u can't make it,then that's all, they'll just move on. Is it true?
Thanks so much.

yeah, thats wad an interviewer said...
but how true it is..im not sure.
however based on the trend, it SHOULD BE ard oct-nov? =)

erm..i don think skipping helps, if not i would have been taller...hehe
BUT..u may try again during the nxt recruitment,
if i could have passed the "157"..why couldnt you?
perhaps this time rd..they don need as many girls compared to july...so they will try to eliminate as many as possible; those who are shorter, etc.jus like wad Blancd said..too many interviewees this time rd.

try again during oct k?
i will put up the latest recruitment here!

SIA sports club? i went to STC then...hmm.. but generally the depth of pool shldnt be more than 2m? this my guess ah..
as for layout, i don think the distance from mock plane to end of pool will be inconsiderably far, so fret not.? but im not sure whats the height from the mock plane to the water...STC is ard 2m only..
gd luck to you! must stay smiley k!

u shld arrange for ur resignation after u clear ur medical??
becos there is still minor percentage who fail medical...like thoes who have hole in heart, colour bindness, etc.

i was at the interview on both days..accompanied some frds..and i saw the lancome lady(pretty tall, long hair?) walking back to the kebaya rm...so i guess she shld be the one who was assessing u girls tht day..

do u noe roughly how many girls are going for ur swim rd?
during my time...70 girls went, 30++ was chosen, thereafter we were split into 3 days for mgmt interview...
per mgmt rd..abt 12 girls...den 8 were chosen..
if they offer u a day which ure not able to, i think die die u must try to make it?
but no harm asking them if there are other dates available? becos they can probably slot u with the other qualified girls from other swim dates ..u get wad i mean? :)

hi desijoey,
I was there too and was booted outt during the kebaya test coz of my height... hahaha.... I guess that 1cm was really difficult to get thru...

I hope you dun feel that bad about it, just try to let your "sunshine" personality come out to win them over , even to the lady who may be measuring your height.

Hi ntyj,

Like you suggested , I went really early . 8.15am, i was there and there are groups of gers waiting already . I was in the 3rd group - top 30th! hahaha.... basically , it wasnt exactly too nerve recking and my fren and i just adopted the "smile for no apparent reason" strategy.

I guess it works, coz during the group interview, the room had a very tense atmosphere. The 2 interviewers aren't exactly friendly, they didnt smile at all - maybe they hadnt warmed up~~? well, to say the least, I basically stammered thru it . But while introducing myself , i made it feel like i was speaking of something really happy and i couldnt stop smiling.

Even when i got out of the room , I couldnt stop smiling/silently laughing abt the fact that i stammered my words when i practiced much before. When they announced the shortlisted few, I was in !

With this really short episode , I do not have the quali to advise, but i love to suggest that mindset is really impt. Many pple love talking abt ownselves , so be natural and be open ... the smile will naturally come to your faces, and it shows in your eyes. do you agree, ntyj?

well, it's my height that got me off the track during the kebaya test. 157cm ~~ :P , but I would love to try again. hopefully , i breathe in a little harder to make me taller , or use the cutest lady-like look to win them over ?! hahahahha....

im just worried IF i get to the water confidence test, i cant swim. but if it is true we'll be wearing life jacket, i think i can handle that.
A dream is real only when you try to reach it. Eventho you fail in the process, its a start and you'll get better everytime. I Believe that.
