dyra, biscotti_girl, thanks for the advice.

Do anyone know how high is the plaform for the confidence test and whether the platform is hard one or using the spring board?

serembanboy, my interview was a tough one and also didnt get through.

She started off smoothly and easy, similar to oceanmist's questions until she questioned my change of job scope from other industry to Airline customer service and also on my lack experience in customer service. Then came the bombshell on my asthma. She's was reluctant to let me through at first but decided to give me a chance. Guess you would probably need to study on SIA coperate profile and information as i was asked. Overall she's kind. The experience is much better than Suntec.

Anyway my friend's interviewer is good and let her through to 3rd round even though she don't know anything about A380 or SIA. She's really lucky as though the job is fated for her :D .

iDO, i guess qualification is something SIA minds as my friend who was attending the 2nd round interview with me got booted cos she had only 4 O levels credit. It was a such a pity for her...

oceanmist, feel excited to know you're just around me that day  . i saw a group of girls behind me. They got through and hugged in joy whenever one of their girls got through. Were you part of the group? Anyway i'm more worried on the water confidence test as i wear contact lenses. So asking around whats the height of the platform. Really headache... Are you preparing anything for the 3rd Round?

Hi Sheryl,

I think you're damn unlucky lolz I was very much assured when one of the girls came out and seeing that I was the next to go, said something like "don't worry, she's very nice", I was like "Phew!"

Yup I think we're the group of loony girls you saw hahaa we were so excited cause all 3 of us were in the same batch in round 1 and made it to round 2 together! We're gonna go shopping to get one-piece swim suit this weekend! Wanna join? Oh yah I'm the fattest one *lol* if you have any impression, the one in white stripped blouse and black pants.

No worries about the lenses cause if i'm not wrong we supposed to swim faced-up in backstroke. I wear contacts too =)

Basically there's nothing to prepare for round 3, it's a make-it or break-it round. But if you're the kind who's afraid of water maybe you can start getting used to being in a pool? For me, I'm just doing some last-minute facial, teeth whitening kinda thing.

Sheryl,
No need for the spring board just remember this DON'T LOOK DOWN some people feel uncomfortable at heights in that situation and become disorientated. Don't think about it just jump you'll be surprised at yourself.

Remember the task in hand; the key word is; confidence so show them that you are capable even if you are not a particulary good swimmer.
Best of luck.

it's a aircraft mock up, u got life vest on and juz jump out when the guy ask u to, it's really not very high, 2m max, so when u are up there, plus ur own height, it looks like 3m. juz dun hesitate when u jump and dun struggle in the water.

Hi Sheryl,

Yeah.. as mentioned by the rest, the water confidence test is merely a test to test your 'Confidence level' in water. Do not struggle to swim. When the Lifeguard instruct you to jump, you an chose to either (i) Hold onto your nose, to prevent water for flowing into your nose or (ii) Cross both of your hands and lay it on each side of the shoulder like a 'X' and JUMP. Do not hestiate because that shows lack of 'Confidence'. Do not worry as the Lifeguard will be giving you a briefing before the test. During my test the other time, all of us passed through the Swim test. As long as you jump, swim with back strokes, get out from the pool and walk steadily back to the ladies and that it! Of course, you would need to put the life vest back onto the hook.

Those who are wearing Contact Lenses, there should not be a problem. One of my batch girls was wearing lenses too and she just wore it and jumped into the pool. I guess you just have to close your eyes and open it when you emerge from the water. There would not be any jumping board/spring. You would be required to jump off from a mock aircraft. about 3m high. Dun worry, should not be a problem to all. Cheers! :P

Best of Lucks!

Hi Sheryl,

For the water confidence test, you will have to jump from a mock plane at about 1 storey high into a 5metres deep pool...but of coz life jacket will be given so no worry ...By the way, there is no jumping board ....the lifeguard will open the mock plane's door and you will got to juz jump down from it.

Wearing contact lens shouldnt pose a problem ...you can wear it cos lots of my teambates oso wore it...i wore it too..hehe!!! :D

oceanmist n sheryl,

when is ur swim test?
both of u r somewhere at the mid point already
thx for ur tips on the qeustions asked by the interviewer.
i alwiz prefer a one to one rather than in a group.
one to one communication is so much better to hv the rapport there compared to a group where the competition is pretty tough.
don't worry too much bout the water stuff.
to be a crew, u need to be bold, confident and with that "la femme "attitude....like alias :)

Plavt, TeaHouse, biscotti_girl, zoergal, serembanboy, thanks for the heartwarming replies and useful tips. Really appreciate the help from you guys/gals. After a few days, i thought of many things, hope you could spare some time for them below. Thanks!!

Although we're given time to prepare for the kebaya, do we need to bring the ladies' equipment (hair dryer, mirror, etc) cos i believe dozens of us will be eye balling these things if we share a common equipment. Need to put light makeup for the water confidence test?

How do we know that the kebaya fits our bodyshape? Will there be explanation on how to wear the uniform properly? What if we couldn't find a suitable one?

How about the shoe? Will it be provided there?

Lastly, what is SIA looking for during the kebaya walking with the tray?

oceanmist, at least you got to share the joy and excitement with your friends on spot. Those i knew in round 1 got booted, so now kinda of alone. Maybe i'll join you and your group to hunt for the swim suit if the time is okay cos i attending some eye seminar at singapore national eye center on sat afternoon. Anyway i will pm you my number :D In the mean time, i'll try to practise swimming with contacts lenses on. And by the way, all the girls there are slim and busty, less me.

Also my tests are on tuesday, maybe we could go together?

Cheesie, congrats!! All the best to you, we'll be waiting for your good news!!
