Re: SIA Interview
Hi, I attended the interview today... out of 11, 4 got kicked out after the interview... so 7 of us got through... but 3 of us (including myself), we have to get our teeth fixed before we can sign the contract and start the training.. and for 2 of us, our teeth aren't even that bad.. gotta spend a few thousands to get it fixed.. sigh.tata wrote:Any guys who attended the upper management interview today ? so for the guys this time, 49 made it to the final round.. so far 32 have been interviewed, 21 have been accepted. 17 more to be interviewed.. so final number should be around 30....

Questions for JustMe...

hey buddy, just out of curiousity, what do they mean by "get your teeth fixed"? do you have crooked teeth?
also, do have have a good complexion? any scars or visible birthmarks? we would like to know what SIA is really looking for in their cabin crew.

SIA Interview
JustMe,
What ?! Must fixed your teeth ? You have very crooked or vampire teeth ? I have 2 front teeth that are protruding out abit, otherwise ok.
So how to fixed your teeth ?
If put braces, it got to be years ?
Then your contract how ?
Never expect the management to be sooooo strict this time. Guys should be less stringent than gals. I have see stewardesss whose teeth are not straight.

to get past the first 2 rounds on the first day, i think just be yourself and be very confident.. and try to speak normally and fluently without any fake accents.. and also maintain eye contact with the 2 interviewers.. i think these are the things they are looking for.
for the first round, it was a panel of 2 ladies. they just asked us to stand up one by one and introduce ourselves, talk about what we are currently doing and also tell them what qualities would make a good customer service officer. for this, just answer the question straight to the point and don't rattle on too much.. those who talk too much tend to get kicked out.
i'm 1.75m, just graduated from NUS, i speak french and japanese and i've been working part-time in retail for the past 3 years..
but anyway about the customer service and foreign language thing.. it really doesn't matter all that much.. the other guys and girls i know that got through, most of them dunno any foreign languages and never really work in customer service before.. so the rest is really all luck and also smile lots to make the people like you........
it's really not easy to get through, so i really wish all the best to everyone who is interested. just remain calm and be confident.

Re: SIA Interview
i actually have slight vampire teeth but he didn't tell me to correct that. he told me to correct my bottom row of teeth, which are slightly crooked.. not very obvious.. can barely be seen. it's really just luck.. guess my luck ran out.. some of the other guys who got in have teeth even worse than mine.tata wrote:JustMe,

for my case, need to do cosmetic surgery.. will cost about $3k but can be done in 3 weeks. so i may not take up the job now... really need to think about it first.
Final interview was horrible.. I came out ready to take my things and leave.. they have a way to make you feel damn demoralised and i think they do a good guy/bad guy thing.. there'll be one person who'll ask the most ridiculous and most difficult to answer questions... first they'll ask you to talk a bit about yourself and from there, the questions move on from there.. like they ask about what i study in the uni.. and why i wanna work as crew when i have a degree.. what kind of sports i do.. why i wanna work with SIA.. will it be a life-long career.. what makes me so special from the rest of the guys outside.. why i would make a good steward..jaymee wrote:JustMe, do u mind telling me wat sort of questions they ask during the final management interview...heard that its the toughest round among all the interview stages. is that right? thanks a lot!
so i guess the trick is that you do not need to have the best answers.. but be confident in your answers and just be yourself... i didn't expect to get through.. but they put me through.. so i think that's what counts.. those who got chopped were quite kan cheong and looked really stressed.. so just appear calm.
SIA interview
Hey Carina,carina wrote:hi,
may i know those who went to the interview at SIA for flight stewardess, how was it?
how many girls pass thru to the 3rd round of interview which is schedule on another day?
are the girls slim and pretty and young?
thanks a lot.
I went for the 3rd round of interview last week.. there were 10 of us tat day and at the end of it, 7 of us remained. altogether there were 2 parts of the interview, first was the management interview and if u get thru tat, u'll go on to the tea party. well the girls tat they're looking for are the girl-next-door kinda look i feel and most imptly is to have the X-factor and nice smile. all of the girls are wat u mentioned - slim, pretty and young. think oldest for my group was 23 or 24. but dun think tat really matters in the last round of interview... these shd most prob be looked out for during the first 2 rounds of interview.
The last round is primarily to see how the girls speak and respond to the qns asked by the interviewers. an impt pt to note is to be humble but not to over-confident and smile always.. maintain eye contact and jus be urself. dun be too nervous and appear reserve or shy. this is to ans qns tat were previously asked by pple who posted them. well those who were sent home weren't given the reasons why so it really remains unknown. =)
to all those who have failed to go thru the 1st or 2nd round, do try again ya.. cos sometimes it really depends on luck and who u get for the interviews. Best of luck!
