I need advices and feedback on my situation cause I was tinking shld I try again the next time.

Today I went thru my water confidence test followed by Kebaya fitting, this time round they switched not sure why but slightly being disadvantage cause your make-up would fade off and we got no time to touch up our make-up thoroughly before we went for the fitting. Nobody was eliminated at this round. Everything was done between 8.30am - 1.30pm for 42 candidates. The girls jump into the pool first before the guys did.

I was pretty sad and amazed on how they did the selection cause in my grp of 20, 4 of us got eliminated during the fitting. So far this is the biggest no. of ppl who pull tru to the next round. This is my 3rd attempt and I always flunked at this stage. I'm clueless on why I wasn't given a chance at all alto I made a lot of improvements to my facial skin. I felt very uncomfortable having them staring hard at my face. I really want to find out the reason why so I tried asking the lady frm Lancome but she turn me down due to her professionalism. Thus I was telling myself, shld I try again the next time and get eliminated at the same round again n again without having to knoe my flaws cause at least if I do know, I wld be able to imrpove it. Cause tell u the truth, this entire process is nerve-wrecking n it takes away a lot of your leave days and getting eliminated towards the end is not a gd feeling. But I was cool when they call out my name cause being pessimistic I aLWAYS told myself, "Hey they haf better skin than urs Wawa...face it!". I''m just not blessed with one but I really hope they would notice me trying to improve myself on every each attempt.

Cld some kind-hearted soul out that care to input on this?

Dear wawa,
dun despair, dun despair, i believe u have gained as much as u've lost in all this experience. you groom urself well, improve along the way while await its interview. Dun be sad, perhaps take up more languages, further enhance the appearance of your skin shd u feel it aint in competition at the moment with the others.
have faith, be optimistic yet realistic. smile!

for this desponent time being, go relax and unwind.. its heart wrenching, but take it easy..i believe you are envious of those who got in and you cant take the pressure of negatively answers w/o their explanation, chill and believe in yourself. You need not need an answer for your own happiness. you are the creator of the answers you need. smile.

cheers,
Jerlyn Ang
be optimistic but realistic...JAL

Wawa,
I am sorry to hear you have had this difficulty and it is one aspect of the airline's recruitment where I feel they go 'way over the top'. Personally I feel they should tell you rather than cause you to waste a lot of time and effort that you have so obviously put into your application and it is noticealbe that you are not amongst those who so often make 'loopy' and uninformed posts here. Perhaps you can seek out some people in modelling agencies for advice. That may take a while as people are busy they may not have the time but no harm in asking, hopefully you can find somebody in the know with a little time to spare.

Best Wishes,

Plavt.

So why has Tinkerbelle threatened to report oNe to the "Relevant Authorities" for expressing her personal opinions? Opinions and advise which I believe is very relevant and useful to all the FA hopefuls. :?

The waste of time is when people here do not listen to the advice of oNe and cannot accept some basic facts. Tinkerbelle is doing nothing more than showing her bitterness and the 'Relevant Authorities' will not be in the least bit interested.

Ok... Let put it this way, the fact that why tinkerbelle raised up this issue is simply bcos a person who is working in the service industry esp. co like SQ which is internationally well known for its services actually give comments about the side of a human weakness. Why people posted simple yet silly question? Yeah it might sound silly to most of them, but for those who needed help, all the answers and advises are precious. If I were to put myself in that situation and I feel that the question was silly, I could simply ignore. Why should I boil myself up by replying awful remarks and make e forum so unfriendly? I would rather do more constructive things thn to log in to this forum every now & thn to discriminate ppl. Do you agree? oNe might has his/her point there, I don't mean he cant have his own opinion, however, I do not agree posting negative comments about wannabes when he/she gives impression that he's speaking on behalf of the co. That really gives me bad impression about the staffs that the co have. Don't forget, wannabes can be 1 of the passenger too..!! Don't you think so Plavt??

Not only were some of the questions silly, potential applicants should have been able to find the answers themselves, just a question of common sense nothing else.
Why should I boil myself up by replying awful remarks and make thee forum so unfriendly?
For your information I have helped more than one person who has PM'd me and am happy to do so where possible, you have obviously, like many others not read much of what I said except what suits you in an attempt to criticize.
I would rather do more constructive things thn to log in to this forum every now & thn to discriminate ppl
Then why don't you? Should I suggest such it is simply ignored and people persist in their badly mistaken beliefs happier to listen to that which is clearly untrue with the result they get nowhere. Explain what you mean when you say discriminate people.

You should realize that these are not simply the opinions of oNe and he is not speaking on behalf of the company if people cannot think for themselves on very simple issues it leaves a bad impression. Would you employ an ambulance driver who was unfamiliar with the routes in Singapore?

Colleen, I have thougt about it and still think Tinkerbelle should not think she can play by her own set of rules. Threatening someone for speaking his/her opinion? 'Going to the authorities'? You have got to be kidding!
this is a forum for people to clear their doubts and queries

This is what you advocate?

I post a picture and you get all upset, but your little friend threatens to get oNe in trouble with his/her employers for expressing his/her own opinion?

Girl, can you even read straight?

I think you're a fool - and that is my opinion. If you now wish to have my boss' contact details I wil happily supply them.

If you are in the service industry, you meet different folks with different strokes. You have to accept criticism and filter what works for you. YOu have to not only have a personality, pleasant outlook but most importantly to be able to handle criticism, you have to, like oNe stated, have a basic common sense.

If you read his/her posts again, you will realise that they were not negative in anyway. He/She merely states that, in this case when it came to the location, the hotel address is known so why do you have to worry about which rooms the interviews will take place in? It is an open walk-in so common sense will tell you that 1)there will be other people attending 2)there will be some sorta signage 3)there will be hotel staff on-hand that you can approach.

The manner in which oNe posted may have been the reason some feathers were ruffled. To some it may have came across as cold while for the others, he/she was just being professional. Instead of doing it like for eg "Aiyoh! Don worry lah, when you get there sure got people around you can ask want. Walk-in mah...." he/she chose to use proper grammar which reflects his/her professional attitude. I don't think or feel that oNe was in anyway being rude or negative. Those who felt he/she was probably still have a lot to learn when it comes to human psyche.

If you can't accept a comment about your weakness, how do you expect to be in the service industry and handle difficult clients/customers(?) Even if, hypothetically, oNe seem to be giving negative comments about wannabes ( now for your info, that in itself is a negative term to use ), isn't it better he/she addressed the issue here on a forum so a lot of people can read and understand the problem instead of say, they being told in the face by the interviewers point blank?

Like I stated, if you read oNe posts again you will realise, he/she is actually giving you pointers without being too direct for eg to have basic common sense,to speak proper, to have confidence ( when it came down to the water-test ) and so on.

There was a couple of posts where those who went for the interview mentioned about the interviewers being strict or something like that. If you think oNe's posts reflects badly on the organisation, then what about the interviewers?

Point is, learn to accept your weakness and eat a slice of humble pie each day.

Tinkerbelle posts just didn't make sense because it is very clear that she did it out of bitterness or a lot of negativity. What she wrote in her PM to oNe is utterly ridiculous and to even state that she wrote an email to the 'relevant authorities' shows how simply narrow/close minded this person is. Instead of using the term relevant authorities why can't she use the term relevant organisation or body? Cos she is still a child irregardless of how how old she really is. She oughta really be careful with the words or action she chooses to take cos they can come back and bite her in the ass. I agree, she better have some hard proof or a good lawyer ( just incase ).

And as she put it, not all of the Airline staff deserve good mention, I'm telling her "Yea. Just like not all deserve to be a cabin crew'.
