Cheerful wrote:From what I know, for Saturday's interview there were 2 groups of interviews. One is 2 males, one is 1 female and 1 male.

My group was interviewed by the 1 female 1 male interviewers. No self intros were needed. They just took turns to ask each of us 2 or 3 questions. eg. why do u want to be a stewardess? What are your hobbies? What do you think as the qualities of a stewardess?? stuff like that...

Again, it's a tough game of luck. depends which group you're in and how the interviewers conduct the interview...
Agreed that luck gonna be da most important issue here as I've heard abt girls of odd sizes getting into later rounds!!

hi peepz,

I went for the interview today and was one of the lucky ones who got into 2nd round interview.

Actually, it doesn't matter what you talk about. The first round of interview is more of a screening exercise. They go by ur size, looks, and confidence.

I wasn't fluent for my intro, and fumble quite abit.
There are others in my group who spoke so fluent, so confident, yet they didn't got in.

So be sure you dress well, have the right figure to fit nicely into kebaya, good complexion to withstand weather changes when you fly, and well-aligned teeth with a nice smile!

I don't thing i got through second, i saw others filling up forms but i didn't get to do that. >.< The interviewer claim that i've got a 'vampire' teeth peeking out when i smile, though i think it's quite subtle!

Oh well, it's been quite an experience actually.
Good luck to those who's gonna go for the 3rd rounds!!

Hi all. i went for the interview yesterday and only one girl from myn group was selected for the second round one to one interview. sob... That girl they selected was the tallest from my grp. wonder what she will look like in the kebaya.
sigh... never got in this time. gonna try next time. mean while gonna look for jobs to cover my expense for the next few months. maybe this time round the number of applicants too much, thats why they were stricter in their selection. anyway. i have always been a 1.62. but dunno wny when that indian lady took my height she only gave me a 1.58. next time round must check.

when i went for the SIA cabin crew interview some time a year back, i had some really bad experiences...

when my height was supposed to be 158cm or above, i do not know why on earth did the lady measuring my height stated it down as 155cm. are they biased or something? i do not know. it was the same thing with another girl. shw is taller than what they stated down. we had to leave immediately after that.

because of this, i lost my confidence and did not even know how the other rounds will be like. but the only way is to keep trying this year througthout. i am turning 25 in august this year. was wondering if i am too old or what. if i were to get in, it will be the biggest birthday surprise for me!

by the way, i also have certification and training in first aid and it is valid till september 2003. i do not know if i might stand a chance because of this. i hope so.

SueZ wrote:i went for the interview today. Was thrown out. They asked me a qns on why i want to be an air stewardess? I ans not that fluent but quite reasonably. but didn't got in. I heard one of the girl being asked the same qns and her ans was, " The air stewardess are slim and pretty and i want to be like them." She got chosen for the 3rd interview for the Kebaya. haha. i really don't know what kind of Gals they are looking for and the ans they want.

how terrible is this! is this for real, suez? what was your actual answer to this question? how did you answer? and how come for a childish answer that the girl gave, she was selected?! i simply don't understand... can you imagine if this girl was selected to be an air stewardess afterwards and she talks like this to passengers on board? wouldn't it not reflect badly on singapore airlines? ridiculous...

Went for the Steward's interview today.. was really crowded.

Very thankful I made it past the first two rounds. The next round is on Tuesday (so soon!).. anyway it seems like an average of 3 - 4 ppl were gettting through from each batch of 10.

I noticed that in my group, those who got through were those who were themselves (not trying to fake an accent or talk too much), spoke reasonably well and also most imptly, had eye contact with the 2 people in the panel.

So that's my advice that I can give to those of you who'd like to try the next time round. Just don't be nervous, speak confidently and have lots of eye contact.

So good luck guys (and girls)! :)
