I submitted my application on 7/7 within a week i got a email telling me to come for interview on 20/7
Heard from my friends its a waiting game and for local applicants the wait is shorter than foreign applicants.
But they will definitely get back to you sooner or later.
Re: SIA cabin crew
Hi, is there any Malaysian currently working in Sg and passed everything waiting for the training starts? Could you share how's the timeline like after you passed the medical check up? How long does it takes for them to apply the pass for you? Thanks in advance!

Round 2 will be debate round. So the video interview this time replaced the first round of 10-2 interviewers.mangogirl wrote: ↑Sun, 22 Sep 2019 10:39 amI did my video interview on Aug 30 and they sent me an email on 20th Sept for “round 2” this Saturday (28th Sept). Re: SIA cabin crew
Hi all. Congratulations to those who have succeeded, I wish I could be one of you (:
I did a video interview recently (Malaysia) but unfortunately was not shortlisted. To those who have passed the video interview (any country), would you mind sharing what you did in yours?
Here is a little about mine.
Attire: Formal. Grey work dress. No blazer.
Look: Neat. Hair pulled back into a pony. Neutral make up. I wore my glasses as I didn't have contacts.
Camera/Audio: Laptop webcam.
Place: Bedroom, plain curtain as background. No clutter.
Time done: around 9pm. It was quiet.
Q1 of 5: Are you ready for a full-length image. Yes.
Q2 of 5: A passenger who does not speak the language you understand has approached you for help. How would you handle the situation?
My ans: (Before I answered this question, I briefly said hi and thanks them for the video interview opportunity.) First, find a colleague who knows the language. Second, get help from neighbouring passengers who might know the language. Lastly, use sign language.
Q3 of 5: Describe your country to someone who has never heard of it before.
My ans: Malaysia. Multicultural. Summer all year round. Lots of nature. Lovely food.
Q4 of 5: In <250 words, tell us the qualities you have which will make you a good cabin crew.
My ans: (I don't really remember my answers to this) Approachable. Caring. Friendly. People-oriented. Something like that.
Q5 of 5: Full-length image + big smile.
My answers for all the speaking questions were within 30-40 seconds long, although we were given A LOT more time. I was thinking since they have thousands of videos to get through (don't know if they even do this as it could be done by artificial intelligence), it's better to keep them short and sweet. I was looking into the camera and smiling the whole time, and also said thank you before moving on to the next question. Have to admit I was a bit nervous, I think I did not stutter but have repronounced some of my words at some points.
I have been to walk-in interviews and have consistently failed the first 10-2 pre-eliminary rounds. I have tried changing different things every time, so I am really clueless what's wrong with me. I wish they would just tell us if it's because of our looks, voice or general physical appearance, because these are the things we can't change, so there is no point keep trying as we will never ever fit in with their image.
Any opinions welcomed! Thanks!
