Guys, I went for my medical on the 14th November and stated my notice period of 2 months. Do you think I should email them to let them know that I can start earlier i.e 1 month notice instead?

Hi

Anyone have applied through the online interview before? Can share your experiences? Right now I'm waiting for the news if shortlisted for the video interview.

She said I'll have to initially and handed me the medical form, but took it back after she checked with another lady and told me that they'll do an internal check with Silkair.

Oh, just to explain my situation a lil bit - I went for Silkair's walk in early this month and got through the finals and did my medical checkup on the 9th.

As of now, there's no news from Silkair yet, so I went for SQ and got through the finals as well.

Ah, I see...

But honestly, I don't recall SilkAir having to do any blood test so you might need to go through SQ's medical checkup because theirs is pretty extensive compared to SilkAir's. But still, I can't confirm on this.

Nonetheless, I hope you'll receive good news soon!

Hey Ruby!

Silkair has blood test too haha! Its a new procedure I think.

Blood test, Urine test, Color blind test, eyesight test, Chest x-ray, Flat foot and Forward bending test.

Thank you :( hopefully all goes well too.

Hi all,

Just an update that i'll be commencing my training next year Jan!
I am from Sep's walk in and was placed under KIV till the 26 of Nov (got the golden text on the 12th Dec) and this is my first try.

A few tips for those that are gonna try for SIA based on my experience:

1. This is gonna sound harsh but learn to keep your mouth shut during the Kebaya round (learnt it the hard way, probably the reason why i got KIV-ed no joke). If there's something they want you to change, just say yes you'll work on it ONLY if you really want to. They're not a fan of oily face since i was told that oily faces tends to be prone to breakout so powder away like your life depends on it!
2. Just be yourself, really. Even if you're not in the mood to mingle with others, just do it. Not only will you be less nervous during the wait but it will reflect well on you.
3. For those that are waiting for the golden call, dont worry too much since worrying only makes the wait feels longer.
4. If you're planning to walk in, its best to go early in the morning. Not only will the process be faster but the staffs there would probably pay more attention to you?
5. Also I realised that those who usually give "perfect model" answers wont necessarily get thru so just talk like how you would usually talk to your close friends. Remember to pay attention to others when they're talking as well. Basic respect people..
6. Dress appropriately. No super short dresses and skirts. Totally doesnt reflect well when you try to pull down your dress/skirt while giving your answers. Saw a girl got booted out probably bcos of this.
7. Also noticed that they will give you at least 1 month's notice before your training starts. Eg: I've to serve 1 month notice to my current company but i wrote immediate under my application form cos i knew the training dates will be given 1 month in advance. And also i heard the earlier your notice period is, the earlier you will get your call? But do it at your own risk ya

So yes thats about it, time to prepare myself to start cleaning toilets, care for babies and sashay in my kebaya etcetc..

All the best everyone!
