Does anyone know what is the working "life span" for a cabin crew in SIA? Will they renew your contract even when you hit 40 years old? I have seen many cabin crews from European airlines and many of them are in their 40s to 50s, but I have never seen that "age group" in SIA before...

Most of the time, it is because of them quitting after working only a few years. There are senior crew who are of that age group.

Looks like SIA keeps some of the FAs until they could qualify for United Airlines post 60 year old FAs if the following photo is to be believed. She looks like she was an FA on SIA's inaugural flight on 1 Oct 1972! :o

hahaha we have senior crew that belong to that age group but probably not many realize because lots of them are still in shape and looking good! having said that if you fly sq more often (or hang out at the airport more?) you definitely get to see the senior ones someday.. contract renewal largely based on performance, if your performance, attendance and conduct has been good, why not? :)

It's 20 flying years for those in blue, 25 for the leading stewardesses in green, and up to 30 years for the chief stewardesses and inflight supervisors who are either in red or purple.

The package is the same for the men, except for those who joined before 2004.

They were put on tenure and can work till 62.

SIA medical test

Post by Capturinghearts » Tue, 22 Jul 2014 10:45 pm

Hi girls,
would like to ask if any one was required to go for ultrasound check for lumpy breasts? The doctor said ultrasound results were fine and did not find anything... but I've heard SIA reject cases like this?

Anyone with similar situation but managed to pass the medical check? ):
