i think they took in more people during the 'middle' part of the walk in - after early morning and before 11 plus, when they realised it was a rather small turnout today. when i reach at nearly 11, there was a large group waiting for skin check and 1 to 1.
the way i see it, i feel round 1 group of 10 and round 2 skin check is really subjective and based on luck. group A interviewers might accept you, group B interviewers might reject you, so it depends on your interviewers really. they sld have a more 'centralised' way of accessing candidates.
the way they interviewed ppl, in a way they want to chose ppl who are pleasing to the eyes of everyone , being pleasant looking and approachable is one of the key point also ...
as wat u have said, luck do play a part

Yeah I know. Actually if we back date it to the one in 9 Mar, it should actually be 20 Apr. So they did make the Apr one earlier actually.

its not always 6 weeks, it can be lesser or much more depending on their operational needs, last time interval between each interview can be 3 months.

I recently applied to be a flight steward and made it all the way to medicals. However I received a rejection letter just days after my medical check up. (Dated 15 March, check up was 11 March) I declared quite a bit of childhood illnesses and I was wondering if anyone had been in the same boat but managed to try again?
How long does SIA keep the medical records?
I got the same dated letter too! I'm pretty pissed off because I do have a specialist report to be submitted. The report from my specialist will take 2-4weeks to be ready... And this was highlighted to the clinic staff and doctor that reviewed me!
How can they submit the review to SQ when I have pending documents?!
Isn't the review about my CURRENT health status?
I'll be bringing this matter up to the clinic for misinforming SQ about my status and malpractice for handling my review with such poor etiquette!
If need be, I'll get a lawyer.
Especially when my specialist declared me fit for flight duties!
Specialists overrides GPs anytime.
Hey eviloz, Im in a similar situation where I had to retrieve a detailed medical report for a childhood surgery that I have declared. I have managed to retrieve and submit it to the clinic since. For now, I have not received any rejection letter. May I knw if you have any updates on ur situation? Did the clinic/ SIA accept your explanation and appeal? TIA

SQ to hire 2000 more cabin crew
I’m taking this as a positive sign that the flight industry is coming back, perhaps now it is finally safe to say that SG is reopened for good.

SIA Crew

Sad day for many SIA crew, losing their jobs, hope they can soon get back to their jobs.
Pilots are taking 50-60% paycuts to keep their jobs.

They can come here but not so much for local going there.
