@snowss sad to say but SQ does not provide paid maternity leave for employees :( you'll have to quit once you get pregnant :(

Hi, anyone knows if tmr's walk-in interview accept foreigner (EP holder)'s application? Although they asked the otheir nationalities to view the requirement and interview dates in their respective country, if they reside and work in SG instead?

Or need to fly back to the respective country for interview if shortlisted?

Thanks!

A friend told me they turn away all PRs and foreigners today except msians as they clearly stated on their website that it's for sporeans and msians only.

just curious, how's the turnout today after all the pay issues on news and yahoo features?

The turnout wasn't that fantastic I think cos waiting time from queuing to 1st round was done within an hour or so. It seemed that they needed girls more cos none of the guys I saw got thru the 1st round.

My group had 2 interviewers; 1 aunty and 1 uncle. Seemed like they had 3 panels of interviewers. I don't think they are that strict for the fact half of your group got thru 1st round. The question posed to my group was what do you expect being a cabin crew. I think this came as a surprise as alot in my group just mumbled their way thru. In the end only 2 girls got thru and one is a nurse. Seems that they favor those in the nursing profession due to their medical skills.

anybody from group 17 for the interview...???

thats my group...

out of 10...

only 1 girl manage to go thru...

the question imposed was the most notable one that has been talked by many..

"what is your fav actor/actress.. and why is he/she an idol to you?"

i suggest .. we collate all questions together... and somehow we will be prepared with the next upcoming interview.. cos many of us are caught off guard..

yea it could be a random question...

but as far as i notice.. the questions keeps going round the bush..

in other words... the interviewers might choose almost the same different set of questions...

at least we get prepared...

cos round 1 is always the killer round..

what do you think guys?

i was told the answer is not the most impt. there are different things they are looking out for and it prob differs across different interviewers too.

My friend who is flying now had a standard 'why do u want to join SIA?' at her 1st round last time and she told me her reply was simply 'my name is xxx, im currently working part time at xxx and has graduated from xxx. i want to join SIA as i have always like customer service and want to do it with SIA. in addition, it allows me to see the world while enjoying my job. thank you.' thats it, short, standard, nothing special and she gt through.

another friend who gt through last year had 'do u prefer sunrise or sunset?' and she said 'i prefer sunset as its more beautiful and not too straining to the eyes. thank you.'

i think luck plays a big part in round 1 and it also depends on SIA's operational needs at that moment and prob the timing of your 1st round (whether the interviewers are still fresh or bored already or waiting for lunch or just back from lunch). The composition of your group of 10 (how many male and female) plays a part too.

in my opinion, the 1 to 1 interview and management round are able to access candidates more carefully.

I went for Mar 9's interview and that was my first. I did do my homework and even got Kristine's manual. There were 2 guys in my group, the rest were females and only 1 lady got through the first round. Interviewers were a Chinese lady and Malay guy. The Chinese lady looked quite stern.

Quite honestly, I was disappointed thinking I would have gone to at least round 2. But oh wells, I would just have to try again. The question for my group: What is your favorite food?

The lady that went through did quite a long introduction about herself and gave a short answer for her favorite food. She was quite nervous compared to a few others in my group but it's not her first time trying out.

After telling some of my friends who tried the interview/got in SQ, they were quite surprised only one got through considering that some groups had 5/10 getting through the first round. Guess luck was not on my side that day :/

i think what've you said is totally so true...

i managed to go thru the 2nd round... during my first time...

but not my 2nd time for the interview...

i think you have a good point there...

yea.. its always about luck...

I think I got the same group 1 interviewers as you. The lady was indeed quite intimidating. Do you intend to try again the next walk-in session?

Hi, I had the same problem as well! I'm really worried, it feels like i'm hanging at nowhere. May i know if they really called you back and do you know if there's anyone who actually failed the review? Thanks!

bellarini wrote:Hi all, I'm new here.

Anyway i went for the 7th Jan interview and cleared almost all rounds:
(1) Round 1
(2) Height & Cert Checks
(3) Skin Check
(4) 1-to-1 Interview
(5) Management Round

During my last round which is the Kebaya Round, i was informed that i've been put on KIV. I assumed that i don't look that good in kebaya because the lady informed me to slim down abit. I have to email them once i've slim down. They assured me that i do not have to go through the interview rounds all over again. The review interview will just be a Kebaya Round for me. And they also claimed that they will give me a call upon receiving my email to inform me of my review date. So right now, it's like i'm hanging with no solid answer on how high are my chances right now.

Anyone experience this before?
