What'll you be wearing to the interview (for ladies)? I don't know how 'formal' is a formal attire if that makes any sense. Is a short sleeved or sleeveless blouse accepted? Must you wear a skirt? I prefer pants. Someone please give me an idea on the basic attire for an airline interview. Thanks!

Hello guys,
anyone has rcv a rejection letter and call back to ask for the reason behind? I've alot of past medical reports and was requested by Shenton clinic for them. All my medical reports seems fine as the specialist said there was no restriction in flying. I was suspected for glaucoma but everything is normal, meaning that I did not have glaucoma. Even so, a pilot has got glaucoma and can even operates a plane, I find no reason why. ): Anyone call back to SIA and ask?
Many thanks

they will not disclose the reason to you, both SIA and the clinic.

Thank you for your answer! ^^ as i have some light scar behind my ears, so i pretty worried about this. during the kebaya round, the skin check is still very strict? we still have to stand under the florescent light for that round?
i cant remember if it's the kebaya round of skin check round they make u stand infront of the spot light. but for sure, they actually busted a few of my mates and they dun even know why they are busted out. some say could be their back, face, the way they walk.. etc. try to put on some foundation on your visable scar. dunno if it helps..
Alright! Will try concealing it, thank you for the advise! Sorry but again only for the kebaya round we need to bun up our hair right? skin check round doesn't need to?

Not necessary to bun up your hair for skin check round, but they may ask you to lift up/gather your hair away from the spot they are checking(especially your fringe and if your hair is covering your shoulders).
There are some people though who just might as well bun up their hair anyway as they feel they look more professional or that it'll will help them project more of a "cabin crew image". Whichever makes you comfortable

you just basically have to do what they instruct you to. dun be nervous. just do what is being told. they lifted down my clothes at the back to see if i've got back pimple and i had already tied up my hair. so it all depends.

Abercrombie wrote:Nevergiveup wrote:Hi folks, just a small reminder; it's not easy to be a crew. It might be glamorous with all the envious eyes on you but you don't know how bad it is with the irregular pattern, jetlag, flu/fever every two to three days due to the change of temperature and of course the hardwork you have to deal with pax or even your own colleagues.
I'm not stopping anyone to join but please think twice before stepping into this industry. But of course, for me, I'm happy being a flying crew. However, if I can choose again, I might not want to step into this industry. This is just my personal opinion.
Lastly fyi; you are not considered as a staff during your training days and you might just get terminated for a small mistake Afterall sq is all about image and discipline. Training is very tough, worse than NS which some of my batch boys claimed to be.
Wish all the hopefuls all the best in the upcoming interview.
Training worst then NS ?? I bet your batch boys must be a clerk, store man or some white horse who never goes through the real NS training. You will never perspire during the course of STC training. Zero running, push up, sit up and ''interesting'' physical exercise. No endless stand by bed and Turn out !!! You don't even need to know how to swim which in NS you will really suffer from that. Training is only "tough" in a way that you must pass all the theory test of many subjects in a short time, waking early Mon-Fri & fighting the Z Monster everyday from 2-5pm, that's all.
You are a staff once you sign the contract. You are paid and enjoy staff benifits such as medical. You will have a staff ID which can be use for free entry and discount in some night spot. If you get in trouble the media will report '' Ex SIA steward/stewardess.......etc"
Abercrombie is spot on! People who claimed they are or were cabin crew are simply trying to discourage others from joining the airlines. I was there for 35 years and I wish I am still flying. The issues I had were usually with my bosses in the office.

SQ to hire 2000 more cabin crew
I’m taking this as a positive sign that the flight industry is coming back, perhaps now it is finally safe to say that SG is reopened for good.

Sad day for many SIA crew, losing their jobs, hope they can soon get back to their jobs.
Pilots are taking 50-60% paycuts to keep their jobs.

They can come here but not so much for local going there.
