I'm quite disappointed after reading a post by polytailparade that any scars from elbow to palm will result in a 99% failure, even though male applicant wear jackets. ponytailparade if you're reading this could you tell me where you got your source from?

Does anyone have reliable sources that can confirm or says otherwise? When I wear long sleeve, and pull the sleeve down a little it's still completely covered.

Any feedback would be very very much appreciated.
well during the skin check round yesterday they asked everyone including guys to roll up their sleeves. it really depends on how big or unnatural yr scar is i guess.

Hi all. Just some really bummed updates

(1) Mass Introduction
(2) Height & Cert Checks
(3) Skin Check
(4) 1-to-1 Interview
(5) Management Round

I failed at the management round. The topic was to discuss about the budget airlines in the market. My team got the NO, that budget airlines should stop continuing. My reading and introducing of my partner was fine.

Perhaps it's really just the debate round that we didn't really smile or something whilst discussing. It's my first time trying for CC and to fail at the end before trying on the kebaya is really traumatizing... :( Any tips from anybody for management round?

swanlake, dun just believe what u read online, best is to go try it out yourself. i have a long obvious scar on my forearm and i passed the skin check in the august interview. it wasn't just a few seconds check though, they scrutinized it for very long and was discussing among themselves. i believe other factors like my skin, teeth, smile and the way i walk helped me too. i think they are stricter on girls.

skin check is subjective, never try never know 8-) .

@ Cherie2323

Hey! Don't cry~~ If they KIV you, means they will call you back for review :) Normally, it will be till next recruitment. Remember to check your email for their notification.

If they wanna fail you, they would have just "kicked" you out on the spot~ Don't be discourage~ Meanwhile, take good care of yourself and prepare to show up in your best form during the review! Good luck!

If I can 'like' a post here like how we can on FB I would press the LIKE button 100x on what wav35 has replied.. My batch boy macam gangster.. I remember seeing a long scar caused by a motorbike accident on his forearm and he got through. I'm not putting down what ponytailparade has advised.. I do agree that it does affect your chances of getting through that skin check but seriously, if you don't try, you don't know. And ya the guys don't roll up their sleeves during work anyway so if your scar is not that obvious.. Maybe they will let you through considering that?

If you don't try, you'll never know. If you allow yourself to be defeated before you even go for the interview, then might as well don't go... I'm not being sarcastic here; I'm speaking through experience.. I used to worry this and that about the interview and failed it many times.. and one fine day I jus told myself AHHH they will take me for who I am!! Don't worry and go for it! And I got it :)

Don't over-prepare yourself on those stuff that you can't control.. Why not focus on the more tangible things like speaking well, company knowledge etc?

As for the kebaya review, ya it should be during the next interview.. And yes it's really only 1 round.. That's what my friends who went for the review told me. You will know on the spot. In the meantime jus do what you need to do (lose weight/gain weight etc).. And for ms cherie.. Idk how u look like in person but if your hips are too big and its because of weight issues maybe you still can do something about it. My batchmate has quite big hips for her body frame (shes quite petite) and she needed to go for review too.. And she passed it. But seriously she's still quite curvy at the hips now.. You know some things are beyond your control so don't be too upset for it. If they ask u to go back for review they will call u.. Chill ok? :) :)

pardon my long post.. Take care everyone! :)

Hey do you guys mind letting us know what sort of management debate questions and answers did you guys who passed go through?

Were you guys supposed to work out who said what, or basically discuss but when presenting, present your own thoughts and ideas?

Because for mine, my group thought we had to each present 1 point instead of discussing our own feelings. So it ended up really brief and meh. So out we go~

Dear wav35_ and whitepetals,

I thank you both for these encouraging words. I will definitely try anyway, it's just that I am ready to get funds for laser treatment to better my chances before my first attempt.

But after what you all said, I could move forward with much more motivation and aiming for the rainbow with comfort in my heart once again.

Thank you both so much for sharing.

Hi there. I KNOW your situation!! I was like you, got until Management round, that was my first time trying for CC(It was the Sep interview back then). Didn't even get to wear the kebaya yet then was booted out :( So disappointed, I was so near yet sooo far! Until today, Im still traumatised but it gets better with every try(of course the lesser tries the better :p , but somethings just arent within our control. Sigh)

Anyway, my group's question back then was "Singapore is a gracious country. What are your views?" At that time I wasnt thinking too much and I gave an in-between answer(both agree and disagree). Learnt my mistake the hard way, which is to NEVER talk bad about Singapore, even though it may be the ugly truth. I mean, the Singapore Girl is a Singapore icon, so obviously SIA will discard potential people who might "defame" Singapore. Hence, always try to give politically right answers at whichever stages of the interview! My passage reading and impromptu introduction of my partner was fine, so Im very convinced about my grave mistake during the discussion that till now it's still taunting me :(
Oh, one more tip: please be 200% alert and listen out for instructions. This girl in my group flipped opened her passage reading card way before her turn to read(not supposed to) and was warned by one of the interviewers to flip it back. She apologised but ended up being sent home too, and we guessed we know why..

Thanks for reading my sad recount of the interview :( hope it helps in one way or another! All the best for all of the hopes and dreams here :)
