A job does not sums up one's life. You can carry on thinking this way of FA, it's pointless to have this conversation. I shall choose to see you as an ignoramus. Yes, FA do clean up barf. If not, passengers will have to sit with it throughout the flight. Nurses clean up barf too. They even clean up excretion of patients. Do you think they are lowly skilled and trashy as well? No. It's a respected profession. Not everyone can do it. This is a customer service industry, nothing glamorous but nowhere near trashy too. :)

You're trying really hard to sound impressive here and I commend on your effort. I sincerely hope you'd be more open-minded to others' professions. And I hope one day you'll reach wherever you want to be. This is a place where like-minded people or rather, people who are aspiring to be FA, share useful tips, information and lend support to one another.

I shall stop replying you so as not to further fill this forum up with irrelevant materials. I'm thinking you could have had a bad experience on board which prompted you to say all these negative remarks about FAs. You can give your feedback to SIA and I'm sure they will do something about it. :)

I will pray for more positivity in your life. :)
The only people who dream that the slaves doing this job are called "professionals" are the slaves doing this job. What's the minimum educational requirement of this job? I have done my checks. And all over the world, it only requires high school or less.

And some of your peons and serfs have the gall to think you can be compared to nurses. In the US and Australia, all registered nurses must have college specialized nursing degrees. I did my checks and in Singapore, registered nurses must have a recognized nursing diploma and are encouraged to take a nursing degree.

It speaks volumes of the skill level of a job when the requirement needed is less than high school in most parts of the world. I read in this forum and there are some people who do not even have GCE O level and are "forced" to apply for this peon job in the UAE. All of you are really a bunch of low-class peons and serfs. Of course you don't know what these words mean. You may check the dictionary for the meaning of "peon" or "serf", you blue-collar worker.

You can keep calling other profession names and so on, away from the screen and under the protection of internet, i believe your just another coward wanting to stir trouble. If you think your own profession is such marvelous job then please stay out of here. People can be kind and nice to you even when you are unruly but once you crossed the limit, i will pray fro your safety and your sanity.

For others going for the interview and waiting for the results, good luck! Flying may be tiring or wonderful but it will definitely be an awesome experience.

raiderbomb wrote:Hi everyone, I went for the recent SIA interview and got booted out at the kebaya round. I think it's because I was wearing colored contact lenses even though it wasn't that obvious. I remembered her asking if I do and I said yes. Also I had a little red marks at the back of my neck which would be gone in a couple of days which she thought was back acne. Anyway, it was my first time trying and Im happy Ive gotten so far.

Im going to the next interview and will do better. I was so nervous, I stammered quite a bit.

I'm worried about the medical test though. Has anyone gotten in with breast lumps? I have one prominent one in my right breast and did an ultra sound. The doctor said it's beign and is just a breast fibroid. I remember seeing someone posted about discovering lumps in her breast during medical test. There was no updates afterwards. Anyone knows what they are looking for in the medical test?

And don't give up people, keep trying! :D Congrats to those who got through!!!
hey raiderbomb, i went for the medical and the doc discovered that one of my boobies are lumpy, afterwhich i paid extra for some ultrascan thingy. Feeling like crap because i thought im gonna have some cancer... Scare the hell outta me, but then i luckily -thankgod- managed to go thru. so dont worry, it doesn't meant u will be booted.
Many lucks!

Congrats martyni ang glitterbabyG!! :)

My friend got a rejection letter on Wednesday :( I've been checking my mailbox daily and so far, there's no letters for me (thank god!) Is it safe to assume that they have already sent out all the rejection letters if my friend has gotten it?

So far, no calls or anything for me. Maybe cus I ORD at the end of May?

glola2 thank you! NO don't assume that. They've mentioned waiting time would be between 1 week to 1 month. So as long as you receive nothing throughout this period, you're still safe. They put us into batches based on our Availability. Did your friend receive the letter via snail-mail or e-mail?

martyni: Via snail mail. My check up was on 16 April. So I guess I can count it as 2 weeks now. Or should I start counting the week after medical? Still damn worried! I hope they start planning the June batches soon so maybe I'll get a call from them soon. Just hoping its no rejection letter. Lol.
