hi. i'm a newbie here :) was overwhelmed by the number of FS in this forum. haha. anyway, i have a question!

i know one does not need to have flawless skin to become FS. but are there any FS with big pores or even, slightly indented mark/s on their face?

hope to get some replies :) and thanks in advance!!!

Interviews will be conducted on 7 August (Saturday) at:

Marriott Singapore
The Gallery, Level 2
320 Orchard Road
Singapore 238865

But i would assume so that their web giving them problem as i just checked my calendar 7 August is a Sunday not Saturday.
Don't worry, its definitely on the 9th Of July, Saturday at Sheraton. Are you going?
Yea, i am going. You?

I'm a newbie with lots of doubts!

Post by Atjw123 » Mon, 13 Jun 2011 2:44 pm

Hi everyone! I haven't been to any interviews yet and have lots of doubts. Wanted to go for the may interview but didn't as I'm not well prepared yet!

The qualification requirement is o levels and above. I was wondering do I stand a chance if I only have ITE cert? But Im able to speak a foreign language, so will that help?

I know they go mainly for pleasant attitude and good personality. But I'm afraid that I can't even go to the first round because of my cert.

I heard there are 5 rounds in the interview. Can someone briefy describe the details of the interview?

And lastly, can we wear colored contact lens and false eyelash to the interview?

Please assist and clear my doubts :( :( :(

Babe, it's definitely required for you to have at least an O level cert with 5 credits and working experience. An ITE cert is not accepted but I heard a higher NITEC is accepted. In the sense of acceptance, I'm sorry to say that education requirements will not be compromised.
Perhaps you can try out for Silkair?

As per friends who have went for the interview, makeup is generally encouraged to be natural. So I guess natural falsies and natural colour contacts are okay?
Yep, I've the same question as well, are we allowed to go for the interview if our availability period is about 6 months from now?

i actually went for the interview 8 months before availability. but i have to say this is NOT recommended and i cant say if they will be so generous with anyone else. as far as i know the normal duration SIA is willing to wait is 3 months max, unless your performance was exceptional and they dun wan waste the resources for you to attend interview again

I went for my first try on 28 May 2011, got through all rounds in Day 1 only to fail at the management round on the 2nd day.

However, I will be trying my best in the upcoming ones till I get in, depending if I get in first or my degree intake comes first. If I still fail to get in for the next one, I will go for my degree and try 2 years later.

Still stalking the SIA website daily. =) By the way, does anyone knows if the write-in still works and whether they will arrange a write-in interview? This is what I had seen after browsing pages back to 2008..
Sorry to say but once you fail the management round, the ban is 6 months which means you can only try after 28th of November.

not true. the 6 months ban no longer applies. i have got 2 friends who failed at management but got through everything within 6 months of the next recruitment which they failed.

Wow, they are lucky. Do they have records of you trying out for management round? If so, the next time u get selected for it again, will chances be better than the first?

I'm not sure about having better chances, but i do doubt so. what i noticed was, as long as you passed the first or second round, they would keep your application form. my personal suspicion is that they are tracking who have attended the interview during that recruitment (no trying again on the same day if you got yourself booted out in earlier rounds) and probably tracking of number of attendees.

whatever the case is, i am pretty certain that there's no ban now. but if anyone were to insist, let's make it maybe 2~ months since the following recruitment is usually 1-2 months lapse.

galwithawand I see, may I just ask if you are currently flying with SQ already or still waiting for training? If you don't mind sharing with us all cabin crew wannabes, when was the date that you went for the interview and the reason that your availability date is 8 months away? Thanks for the heads up
