SIA educational requirement does changes from time to time. A few years back its at least Diploma and A levels, now its 5 O levels. Many Many years bk its ITE also ok. However I don't remember SIA ever accept N levels. As the requirement changes only trust the official web site for information.

what i was being told by my friend who had higher nitec and O levels is that she was immediately declined when she didnt meet the minimum education requirements. at that point of time, she was completing her local polytechnic Diploma was was told to come again the next time she received her cert. but you may try for this upcoming recruitment if you want to.

honey, they are really strict. if u dun have min. 5 O level with working relevant experiences or Dip w/o experience, they will not accept u.
And they are strict with heigth too, min. is 158cm, even if u are 157.5cm they will reject you as well. :-|

but if u dun trust us, u cld try gg for the interview, they will check your education level and heigth before 1st rd, by then u will know if u meet their requirement.

I think now it's slightly different. Last time they will check ur height b4 round 1 stage, after which u have to present them ur certs to go to round 2.
Now it's after round 2, they will check ur certs + height. Tats y u can see some gets rejected due to height and can't proceed onto round 2..
They shld have done the height check b4 the round 1, so as to not deprive others of their chances :)

Yup. What you said is true, maybe I'll just give it a try.
Anyway is it ok if I turn up for the interview wearing something smart but a little bit casual? I'm not used to wearing pants & shoes & ties. I think I'd be more nervous & uncomfortable wearing something I'm not used to. Any dresscode for the guys attending?

Btw to slimslee & babyturtle, sorry I cant reply your private messages for now. But, thankyou for the advices given. Apparently I've not posted enough to enable the reply feature. What a pooper.

What is something a bit casual? :? like?? :???: hmm.. Is this a job that you really want? and think of how the interviewers will think when they look at your attire. :-|

Anyway, if u make it to the training, you WILL have to, in fact MUST, wear shirt, tie and pants everyday to training.

Thankyou kinderjoy for replying :).
No doubt first impression of physical attire matters but I didnt meant to say that I would turn up in jeans and plimsols, just that I would prefer to breakout from the usual black/navy pants and white crisp shirts. Its just something I need to feel smart but comfortable in (I have no idea how to explain this). Something that will make the interviewer say- "Hey, this guy looks smart, fresh, different and definitely himself". With just that, a 5sec evaluation, credited to you(might help in later rounds. Haha).

But then again if SIA's interviewers are the conservative types; Oh wells, I'm doomed. Haha. Then black pants, shirt & tie it is then :|

Anyway this career is indeed something I really want if given the opportunity and I do understand of the requirement of the training attire. But thats still a long way to go.

By the way, anyone seen interviewees who didnt really wore very smart made it to the next rounds? If yes, what did they wear?

Yes, i've seen some, BUt they were told off by interviewers to dress properly on their final day. Wether they made it to become one of us, I don't know. It definitely reflect bad on one if he/she doesnt know dress well for an interview, it shows no respect to the interview also say something about yourself.

I believe you will not dress cusually for a world class airline interview right?
