Guys, I have about 6 months to finishing my military service. Is it too early to go for this Sat's interview? I had a friend who went for the interview 6 months before ending his NS, and he got in. But I have also heard that SIA is looking for people available soon for now. Someone please advise.

You are lucky Flumpet... Or maybe I was unlucky... :?

I got a similiar BP, I think its 135 over 80 or 90. Doc A says I am ok, but Doc B rebuked Doc A's decision and no one updated me on their decision. So I failed but I wasn't informed by anyone.

I had to retake my BP after several weeks of being forgotten by everyone. It was Doc C who finally confirmed my BP to be 120/80 on the last attempt and I finally cleared my med.

For what I know of, its the Doc who has the final say. Not your nurse or your own specialist, cos I had taken a checkup by my ex company Doc just a month before with a reading of 120/60, they ignored my report after I brought it along with me. So, I believe all these varies with people.

I'm in my first month of flying already. Don't worry!
interestingjob wrote:Hi, from a nurse point of view, 135/85 is not that high, it is slightly elevated however, it is not high.
But afterall, I am not the doctor that assess, therefore, it is not for me to say if you will pass or fail. However, be positive.. :)

my blood pressure was 135/85 .. and the doc said its quite high ..

do u think i would fail the medical test ?

thanks

Oh i see. Then i guess its down to luck which doctor was present when they take the readings. Well, just keep trying yeah?

There is no need to use massive quotes, it wastes space and creates problems with the board software. Please select only that which is relevant when quoting.

cabin crew with criminal record

Post by clarewee » Fri, 05 Nov 2010 7:02 pm

i am very confident of passing all SIA interview questions. HOwever, i had a criminal record of theft dating 2 years ago, it was resolved with a fine and no imprisonment.

Do SIA do background checks on cabin crew?
Also, do u think SIA will reject hopefuls with criminal record if i choose to declare.

THank you!

@clarewee

to be truthful, the chances of SIA accepting you is very low.

@clarewee

security is very tight for anyone to work in the airport or on the plane. therefore SIA most likely gonna screen all hopeful background. whether do declare or not its your own decision.
