crunkbabee wrote:hey! leaving at 9.30am is completely impossible...the whole interview process may take afew hours up till 4pm...and no, you dont do all the rounds on the same day.usually the management and kebaya round is the next day.

heres an overview of my timeline during the last walk in that i went to:
8.30am - reached the venue
10.30am - 10 hopefuls to 2 interviewers
12.30am - skin check
1.30pm - game
2.30pm - 1 to 1 interview

it was about 3.30pm by the time we were done.

the next day was the management and kebaya round it depends on the time your scheduled to come. i was scheduled to come at 12 plus and everything ended at 4pm and the cert checking/medical letter issued was done at 4.45pm. :)

Thanks for the information Crunkbabee.
I've settled my charity event and prepared to go for the interview..later.
Hope to see you in SIA. :)

The passing rate for round 1 is very good.Average of 8 out of 10 will pass round 1 from what I have seen.

8 from my group proceeded to the next round.I'm one of the unfortunate two to be booted out of this round.

Other candiates are certain that I will proceed on to round 2 given my composed presentation.

Application forms are returned to all candidates who failed round 1.When I saw my application form, the Admin girl/interviewers had circled my "age".

Yes,I'm in my big 3,I'm 30 years old this year to be exact but I look like in my twenties.I felt discriminated due to the fact that they circled my age in the form and they could have done it discreetly.I think they must have booted me out because I'm 30 years old.

I must admit age is catching up.Should I give up this F%*@ dream of mine? OR try another time to reaffirm that candidates who are over the age of 30 stand NO CHANCE at all?

I passed all rounds today and tomorrow is my interview with Management Round! So happpyyy...can't wait to get over with it and start training!!

Just wanted to leave an update on this 7th Aug interview...

I reached at 735am and I was in Group 8.
ROUND 1: 10 candidates to 2 judges - My grp - only 1 got booted out:)
Height test and certs verifications - My grp - 3 got booted out for height requirements :(

Then we were told to proceed on to a room for SKIN CHECK.
3 candidates were told to enter the room at a time.
There will be a bright light shining from the floor and this nice lady chats with me, wanting to let me relax i guess, while she chats with me, shes checking my face as well, and she also asked me to turn around and checked my hands, front & back. She also asked me if I had tattoo or birthmarks at my waist or body.

ROUND 2:
A game of memory with Uno Cards. 8 candidates in the room and we were asked to split into 2 teams. It doesnt matter who wins as we were basically tested on teamwork, cooperation and communication among peers! :) This was fun yet scary as you know the interviewers are observing you!
After this game, it was one-to-one interview and this was the same room as the memory game.
Basically, my interviewer asked me questions on my job, why I want to switch career, what is considered as good customer service, what if there was unreasonable passenger on flight-how would I handle it. Then he asked me to choose a faced-down card on the table and read a passage. And also to answer the question imposed on that passage itself.
My passage was that if I saw a passenger taking a teaspoon from the plane - how would I handle it?

After which, we waited for our results which I GOT THROUGH and we were given a letter to come down the next day at an allocated timing to go through the management round!!

 i'm so going to flyyyy

Congratulations to slimslee for going to be cabin crew soon :) All the best to you tomorrow !

I am in Group 20 today. Selection was high..7 of us got through but a gal who was measured 156cm did not make it through.

After that, you are proceeded to the grooming check, I only know that 2 was eliminated from my group during this round. I guess they did not get through cos of their blemishes. But again, it is very subjective cos I remembered there is this gal who has nice complexion did not make it through too. Perhaps she has some scars on her arms which they will also check.

I think I was lucky to make it through this round as my BMI was high. At the 1st sight of my application, the lady weigh me at the scale.
I was weighing at 55.8kg and standing at 1.60m. I think based on SQ standards, I was way too heavy. But amazingly they did not question me about my weight issue. Last time, I remembered going for walk-ins at Sheraton Towers, they will question me about how I am going to manage it (slim down). Used to fast the night before so I can get 2 kilos down before the actual interview day..haha...but now I already so tired to diet.

I got through the grooming round, and proceed to the UNO game and 1-1 interview (this is the round I didn't get through) :(
I thought I did pretty well initially cos I was smiling all the way and the guy who interviewed me .. ask me whether I think I smile a lot? Haha... of cos I did. Cos I know it is very important to smile. I guess the part that I did not make it through is the scenario question whereby I have to pick a passage on the table.

The scenario was that there is a turbulence and the seat belt sign is on. A passenger has a stomachache and needs to go to the toilet. For safety reasons, every passenger needs to be seated. The passenger was getting irritated.

He asked me how will I manage that? I told him for safety reasons, I will want the passenger to be on his seat and I will consult my senior crew in charge of this situation. He then asked me .. how will the senior crew knows? I told him that I understand the senior crew will not know as only the pilots can predict. However based on their experience, I guess they can guide on this situation, as I am still new as a crew. I was nervous but I manage to answer in a calm and smiley manner.

In the end he even ask me whether I got any further questions? I ask him how do I answer this scenario question? He say...just let him go to the toilet, no question asked! hahaha.... sian.!! But I still think there is no right OR wrong answer cos I am not a fully trained crew and I still consulted him on how to answer this question. Maybe he just don't like my face :(

Anyway..went home to sob after this. Sigh. Tried so many times for SQ interview (more than 15 times i guess?) Lost count already.

This is the third time I failed in the 1-1 interview. I thought today is the turning point of life to be cabin crew as I am turning 26 this year and time is very short.

However I believe in self-determination and I just like to tell everyone it is not easy to go for SQ interviews after failing each time. (especially got kick at round 1) It takes a lot of courage, energy and mental well-being. I will definitely TRY again next time round.

Congrats again to those going for tomorrow management round!
So envvyyy.... (continue to sob now...)

Hey Slimslee, congrats and all the best for tmr! :)

And as for Mouse, don't give up! You have persevered for so long..all the experiences you have gained from these interviews will help! I really admire your courage and persistence!

I have been watching this forum since I've decided to join SIA as CC and today was my first time to the interview. It was only normal to feel disappointed but after hearing stories of how some girls had to try many many times before they got in made me feel encourage to go for the next interview!

I was in group 45 and I believe the reason why I got kicked was probably due to my weight? I guess I look too plump. The younger girls in my group were quite sure I was going to get through but I didn't!
Gotta lose more weight seriously and with my age catching up on me (am turning 25 in Sept), I gotta hurry.

So all the girls who didn't get through today's interview, don't give up!
Learn from today's experience and look forward to the next one :)

hello :) As long as you meet the minimum requirements, you will be shortlisted. I think first come first serve. So better send now.. They will email you for the write in interview at STC. And yes, I have been to STC several times. Lost count too. Pray hard.
