hi kinderjoy...i am also worried about age and the issue of 'how to fight those under 20s...right' ! lol... me too la. I am 25 this year.
Well, when i went for my mass recruitment early this year and last year, my friend who is 27 yrs, got in..after xxx times of trying. But of cos, one must maintain in good condition and as long as you look ok, and not old...they will recruit those below 30 years of age.
ANd remember to smile ...

mouse, I went for their interview twice b4 i got into another airline. Although i'm flying now, but my dream is still getting into SQ.

I guess if they are not so strict with round 2 (kabaya fitting), many girls would have passed. I'm scare of that stage. And I get nervous everytime when it comes to my turn...

I hope having experience in flying helps me to get thru all the stages...

My best friend has a friend who father is head of department for cabin crew (or something like that), she told her those hotel (mass) interview is not easy to get in compare to people who are shortlisted to STC for interviews as they filter most of the "unwanted" ones and give chance to the more "potiental" ones.

Honestly you don't need a person on the inside to tell you that. It's obvious that shortlisted candidates that go straight to STC generally stand a higher chance of success than a mass walk-in recruitment.

hi kinderjoy: which airline u are with you now?

erm...i tried both mass and write-in kinds...to me, is no difference. cos I have been to so many of them! hehe...it actually depends on how fast u emailed them and as long as u fit in their 'number of applicants they can see that day' and 'meet their minimum requirements' - shouldn't be any problem ;)

I am actually quite fast to apply via online whenever there is a write-in recruitment going on. Cos in my heart, i know this is what i want and it is what i really want to be one day, hopefully in my life. But too bad, i am not fated. I also want to get into Singapore Airlines, and if not, Japan Airlines.

Let's all hope for a speedy good pace recovery in the aviation industry! People, please travel more, especially SQ man!! :P

A dangerous supposition given the severe competition likely to occur as a result of the recession. You need to look deeper at yourself (you can work it out for yourself what I mean).

i have been working real hard to see what's the real problem is...
Somehow, i feel that the recruitment is very subjective and i'm quite sure loads agree with me.

I feel getting into SQ is 50% luck and 50% of how you present yourself.
I've heard a girl got thru wearing shorts to interview..

well, we all know that interview should wear something formal or at least something that is suitable for interview... not shorts...
I guess she's really lucky...

Forget who agrees with you and analyze what the job requires that way you can plan things and assess whether or not you can match the criteria. Plenty of info on the web if you look for it.

Again forget what you hear that's not important and more often than not turns out to be a myth. Either way you need to look at things differently while there may be some luck involved I doubt your chances are how you have stated above.

What mouse said is true. However i felt that the invitations are computer generated, one girl who did not even fit into their 'either Singaporean or Malaysian' basic requirements received the invitation in the past too.

To: th3_glove20,

Hi, are you a "Steward-wannabe"?
I am the one. Waiting for SIA to reopen the exercise. If you don't mind, we can discuss about it.
