Like I was told by the personnel before getting sent home during the Jan interview, the recruitment drive would be ONCE every 2-3 MONTHS. And I did ask if there would be a recruitment drive in Feb, she said not very sure but at this rate of the economy, not likely. :)

It hasn't stopped, just not hiring that frequently anymore. ;)

i have a few questions to ask regarding post acceptance as a SIA cabin crew. my status at the moment is to go for medical check up.
1. do u know how long it takes for us to get the result of the test?
2. if we do pass the medical check up, how long usually they will inform on the dates of the training?
3. which area should we look for during our stay in training? am not quite familiar with singapore.
appreciate it very much if any of you will help me on this.
thanks :)

I can answer you question 3.

You can stay anywhere in the east side as long as it's near to Changi Airport.

Some places are Tampines, Pasir Ris, Bedok, Tanah Merah, Simei, or Changi. These are the most convenient places. :)

Cos i've being rejected from both SQ and silkair during uniform
fitting. Silkair crew ask me to eat more n add on more weight.
I wonder is it becos of me underweight.
Anyway i've never had acceptable weight. It's genes.
Dont give up
What if it's due to missing tooth?
And if the interview comes before my appointment to replace
my tooth. How can i tell the interviewer? It'll affect right?
Get it done before the interview. :) They'd probably ask u to try again until after you have made the changes if you haven't yet did the filling of teeth. ;)

About 2 weeks... :)
cose i have a fren she went to the second interview on jan and she made it and on dat day, she went for the checkup at paragon but till now no one has contact her and shes gettin worried...
Could probably be due to SQ slowing down hiring process. So, even if the results are out.. SQ is the one who is delaying the whole thing..

yup, that's right. my cousin who's at stc now told me the jan batch who passed isn't starting till march or so. so just wait i guess. as long as there's no letter, it's all good.

and longer interval between each interview just means there's more time to practice and all. which hopefully will translate to better chances. :)

As of today, the Flight Stewards from SIA are from Singapore, Singapore PR's, Malaysia and 2 guys from Hong Kong. Hope this helps.

Now that SQ had stop so many long distances flights, there are confirm alot of stand bys and there wont be so much over night allowances nw. My 2 frens who are in SIA told me that nw, they are scheduled to fly one max 8 hrs flight (must see roosters)and a few nr by plces like bkk 2-3 times per mth only. mostly on standbys.

I asked them if they still receiving SGD$3500 per mth as stated in the SIA website, they just say, still can survive la.. :? But they say gt alot of hold backs for the new recruits. Do they mean, those just grad from STC will not start work immediately? Then just got accepted from the last interview will start their classes later or wat?

Then wat abt this mth n next mth's interview? Will there still be any?

the news has just reported that cabin crew onboard will be reduced 11% than usual. but won't retrench, prob a pay cut soon.
since there's a pay cut, i guess most prob there wouldn't be a recruitment soon..

Since SQ is affected too, means other airline will be affected here n there. I guess it isn't the right time to join airline now.
There won't be much chances given too.

i have some questions too:

1, i heard that 1st interview includes uniform fitting, is it free size or there is S,M,L... anyone has an idea of the largest size specification? i m not that slim :s

2, is there an age limitation of applicant? i m already 23+, can i still apply?

3, am holding PR and graduated from polytechnic, am i qualified? coz i saw from SIA website PR must hold degree instead of poly cert coz tat is only for singaporean.

i really appreciate anyone replys me :)

Cheers~~~

You mean rosters?

Then they must be having very lousy luck. I have 2 long flights, one 14hour and one 4 sector flight, in addition to a few more short flights. Many standbys is true though but many others are still having normal full schedules.

The amount required to survive varies from person to person lol.

Honestly i think so far no one has an answer. I guess it's kinda hard to plan for recruitment when you are contemplating retrenchment???

no freesize, as long as ur chest, waist and bottom not too big. They have different sizes for you to try.

23+ is considered young, don't worry

poly is okay
