yes u can, provided your health condition improve. And depending on what health condition. Strictly no slip disc and such. Cos this job is very demanding on our back.

LOL! EL! :shooting: :shooting: Here goes his lamborghini ......

Abercrombie & M: Ah yes yes, I heard through some gossip vine that this particular guy joined recently as a FS. Really curious on why he wanted to fly - since he could jolly well buy his own plane and travel? Oh well - guess even the rich have dreams to live too?

Re: 13th Jan - I think Sat's recruitment had VERY high rejection rate @ round 1. So far still no news on the forum of ppl making it all the way... Oh well, with 200+ flights cancelled, super long standbys for the excess crew - it's not a surprise.

Boys & Girls - just keep trying and don't give up ok? Dear Old me has been trying for 10 times so far! urgh....
Dont worry guys, if you think you love the job then pursue with all your passion. I tried 3 times and I made it. The good news for all of you, is that SIA is planning to recruit an additional 3,000 crew over the next 10 years. The bad news is, alot of them will be foreigners.

Frankly speaking, alot of singaporeans are more and more arrogant and think that this job is all 'glamor' and no work. Its really kinda different when you are in here. As compared to the chinese, Japanese, Koreans and malaysians, Singaporeans lose out alot on attitude towards their work and attitude towards one another.

Not sure whether it is a Gen Y syndrome, but I do hope all these attitudes will change.

Looking at alot of posts here, we aare merely comparing who get in who did not get in, why this why that. But sometimes it only takes a 5 min reflection on ourselves to find out what really went wrong. Improve on it and try again next round.

The lady who sent me home told me their recruitments would be once every 2 months. Don't know how true it is, but that's what she told me. LOL!
dont worry, there will be. Maybe a lowered quota thats all.

for those who made it through, congratulations. Our pay increment is here, so your starting pay is slightly higher.

I did conceal, but the spot light is really really strong, its so bright I couldn't even see the interviewer's face, and it actually feels scalding to my neck.. hahaa. and I guess she saw it. even mosquito bite she also go "omg what happened to your hand?" like its some very serious scar.. lol.
very bright right? sometimes i wonder what is with the need for flawless skin, i mean when one started flying, the irregualr hours, the different climate, stress, will also result in imperfect skin sometimes.

and 1 of my friend said: i don't think the passengers will look at the cabin crews with a bright light in their hand when asking questions or whatsoever.

hahah.. so funny...

anyway, went today ard 2pm and booted out in round 1. guess it is due to my age. there are so many young girls there...
hit the big 3 yet? Dont worry I have friends who came in at age of 28 or 29.

teach u guys one trick. Think in terms of company.

You can write poems about yourself, but if its not relevant to the jobscope or to the company. Those information are not important. We are basically service professionals. So be confident, take a deep breath, take your time, and speak properly.

porky purple mdmmilan petals and all who encouraged !!

I went today and fail again and will try again !

By the way, i think one actually need a bit of luck to get thr first round. my friend came along some 3 hours later, totally unprepared and didnt even apply make up on her face until i force her to use mine before her self intro..she didnt even prepare a self intro passage!

And she got through the interview!

I think she had attracted the attention of the interviewers because she was in Australia for the last 8 years, grad recently with a Masters and apologised for wearing jeans. She explained that she didnt mean to disrespect the interview with jeans but because she had just touched down and didnt have the time to unpack her luggage..all last min anyhow pomp one hahahha!

but well, she is tall and pretty and have a beautiful body....

by the way Amber I smile to people all the time ! :D

I smile and chat with the security guards at STC, I smile and chat with taxi drivers, I smile and thank all the waitresses at where i dine and smile at most of the service providers I go to..

And I made two new friends today! Was alone in the queue, didnt know what to do so I turn arnd and asked both of them'hey are u alone too!'

Like that we ended up chatting through the 4 hours and exchanged numbers .. There are very nice girls around ! ( and the stuck up ones with the words " i am tua chio bu" invisibly written on their faces..)

unfortunately all 3 of us went out together too..:(

Seriously I am quite certain I can deliver service because I have track records in my 4 years experience!

When I was at the bank, I was twice a service champion nominee( never win la, but good enuff) and one of the staffs with the highest number of compliments emails and feedback...

I will say it from my heart customer service is my biggest strenght and it is something I enjoy and excel at.

And I had practiced very hard the night before and went on to talk about myself with minimal stutter and absolute confidence..

To be honest, I had gone for a CC talk prior the interview and the speaker did mentioned that I really need to lose weight...

At 56kg I think I look 66...

I am sure I will never be able make it unless I lose another 10kg off..

( I am blardy cursed with a bigger-than-average-Asian pair of boobs..dman! )

For the bigger girls who make it through,, I would say CONGRATULATIONS!!

Being able to make it to the kebaya round only means that you are good and better than all the others around !! It would be the company;s losses for not hiring you but never mind !

We shall all try again !!! NEVER SAY DIE!!
Mmm a rehearsed answer can be spotted quite easily. Perhaps you would like to try keeping your answers short and sweet?

With your experience and assets, you should be able to pass your next interview. Stand straight, look at the interviewers straight in the eyes, and speak with confidence. 加油, hope to see you on board one day. Just don't sound too 'haolian'. A humble tone is good

I had that experience too, i spouted nonsense and even introduced myself wrongly. I was caught when they asked me what's your fav movie and why. No one expected that... so its part of the experience.

But when you are on board you are required to do more public speaking. Example, when safety video fails, you have to perform LIVE in front of the passengers.

So fear not, as fear is the only barrier to your dreams. =)

Anyone knows if SIA will be conducting the next round of interviews in the coming months? I saw that they will be conducting a recruitment in KL in Feb, but wondering if it's only applicable for Malaysians?

I got a few books I can lend you. Contains some simple exercises you can practise. I used to be very timid in the past. Talking to mirror helps too. You can practise your speech, improve your smile, and your body posture.
