hey guys.. i wonder if u haf any views about a stupid mistake i just made.
i submitted my application this morning. under the status was Application Received. and.... this afternoon i went back to the page where they have the ad for Singaporean/Malaysian crew.. n without realising that I was still logged on, i accidentally clicked on the link which said:
If you no longer wish to have your application for consideration, click here.
or sth like that.. i noe.. i clicked on it blindly.. i was actually trying to check out something for a friend..n i was careless. now there's nothing under Application Status.
tho i received a Thank You for applying email at 2.04pm. i dun remember what time i clicked the remove application link.. prolly between 2pm - 2.10pm.n now i'm lost.
so now, there's no link to re-apply or sth. has anyone encountered this before?
..if you could only read my mind..

Ya I do. Others have sent in with different emails too. Or is there anyway you can call to check?

I believe it takes about 2 weeks after medical for everything to clear and a final confirmation. They then take your notice period into consideration and work out the best time for you to start in accordance with their training schedule. I've yet to get my med results back...hella nervous. There was a slight hiccup too with my medical...i declared a few broken bones and injuries on my report and the doc asked if I had any specialist report on the current status of my injuries. The two injuries happened something like 14 and 4 years ago...i had no reports to show. She had to refer me to a specialist in Mount E on that very same day to get a new report. Abit of a bummer because I had to fork out a cool $250 for my inadequacy....bleah. Worst of all, she's telling me all of these charges I have to bear and possible scenarios that I can't get picked because of my injuries while she's squeezing that damn stress ball of a blood pressure monitor for my BP results. My BP shot up to 130/80. She noted that result down too. The horror.
Have you been selected too? If you'd like I can let you know the moment they call and vice versa. Anyone else out there waiting for their results as well?

This being my first post, I just want to say a big hello to the community. I came across this forum this wednesday and was amazed at how active this forum was! I've always wanted to have a career flying so I tried out for the interview last week , not knowing what to expect and thankfully I got through all rounds of the interview on that day,
after which I was sent to the STC for my final management round on Monday. I have to say this whole interview process ranks up there with some of the toughest scrutinising interviews I've ever had, (and believe me, I've had some rough ones)
Hi Shaun,
Care to share y do u want to fly as a career tat much?
wat do u wrk as currently??
appreciate if u cld share...

Hey 3ds,
Of course. To put it simply it really all just boils down for my ultimate love for travelling. Secondary reason is I've been working in the service industry on and off for about 6 years now so it's what I'm most comfortable doing. I have a dip of Hospitality Management too so it's a perfect fit. Who wouldn't snap up a job that allows you to incorporate your life's passion into something you're comfortable with and love doing. Make sense? When it comes down to your personal battle with retaining a job ( I don't mean trying to keep yourself from getting fired haha
...but actually finding the determination to stick with the job you currently have) you need a bit of passion for what you do. So I see good prospects in SIA.
For what I do now, I just do a bit of part time work tending a small bar operated by a great family that are long friends of mine. So yeah! Anyone else like to share their background and experiences? By the way guys I'm sorry I've been mass posting, I talk too much. I probably come across pretty self absorbed too...I should shut up. Everyone secretly saying this ang moh talk a load of
haha

SQ to hire 2000 more cabin crew
I’m taking this as a positive sign that the flight industry is coming back, perhaps now it is finally safe to say that SG is reopened for good.

Sad day for many SIA crew, losing their jobs, hope they can soon get back to their jobs.
Pilots are taking 50-60% paycuts to keep their jobs.

They can come here but not so much for local going there.
