hey there steward shazni! :)

wanted to ask you couple of questions.

Do they recruit Indonesian male that has local education qualification? Because I have been living in Singapore for almost 9 years. Just that I am counted as a foreigner, never ever applied PR and still under student pass (fresh graduates here :) )

I did download the for for those who residing in Singapore, the included this section, For Non Singapore Citizens, identify passport or IC no. and Country of Issue

I am totally and wanted so much this job though.. And I also have some relative working as an IFS, can I get recommendation from them?

thanks tho for asnwering my question :)

If you want to apply as a CC with SQ,you have to be either SIN PR,SIN resident or INA citizen.Since you're INA,you can apply for SIN/SIN[PR] CC positions if you have a SIN PR Citizenship.Alternatively, you can apply for INA Cabin Crew which requires you to have an INA citizenship, which I think you have.Since you have a relative in SIA who's an IFS,you could ask him to elaborate more on this,I am in no position to determine your chances of getting into SQ considering your current situation.Maybe M would like to help out with this? :-| :-|

sQ-StEwaRd-ShazNi or M, would you know if how they will test the foreign language I know? I do speak some basic german but in order to prove it, I just enrolled to a course in a language school to certify it. But of cause, the certificate will only comes next month.

How will they test my proficiency in german in this case?

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi jetset, there is a lady in STC who oversees german 'department', can't recall her name but I'll recall and keep you posted again. Crews who wish to highlight to HR and frequent that route will be assessed at the german language centre before being advised if they are required to attend a conversation course or is deemed suited as 'german speaking crew'. Cheers!

Thanks for your insight! Yes I've heard of SIA sending crews for language courses, but I think they got to fulfill some sort of criteria before being selected.

So I reckon if I just mention it on the C.V. they wouldn't verify on that unless I personally highlight my interest in german language so as they will put me through the test and assign the suitability of a 'german speaking crew'

Self Intro

Post by Butterflygal » Thu, 06 Nov 2008 1:05 pm

Hi Steward_shazni & Sherrielynn,

can you both share with me what did u tell interviewer during 1st round of self intro? I knew that some candidates talking too much ...some talked too less... get booted out after first round.

so would like to know what to include in self-intro, so I can deliver myself in more effective ways.

many thanks

butterfly - basically for my self intro, i just told them my name and my previous work experience. I didnt went into it for i believed this will be the job of the interviewer during 1 to 1. I just gave a brief intro about myself.
I also told the interviewers during my 1st round what are my strong characters.

Just don't be too dragy. Always keep in short and sweet. :)

Anyways just a side note,
i cleared my medical !!! Training starts dec !!
