hello appletreetop.
:)
um, i think eng is the most important. i dont think a D7 in eng will get you through. i have an A2 in eng, but only 4 O levels (forgot to include my second language previously, hehe). so i dont know if they'll take me.
but we can always try, no harm what right?

um, for the write in interview, you can go to the sia careers website and they have the info there.

hmmm . . :???: what i saw in the career website is that Singaporeans are to go for the walk-in interview and SPR are to fill up the application form and send to the mentioned email. Thank you for your kind reply and i think, i need more "enlightenment". is there a link which anyone could actually post here regarding the write-in? So sorry!

I am not sure is this the same website you have gone through.
http://www.singaporeair.com/saa/en_UK/c ... /index.jsp
Right now, the write-in application has closed. I am not a S'porean or SPR. But i did submit my application online through the above mentioned website. :)

Abercrombie wrote:Basically what an employer wants: Good attitude, hardworking, positive, humble, willing to learn, fast learner etc ...
Friends - I've posted here before - just search for my and my wifes ID in this post using the search function.

As ex tech crew (captain, Boeings - not SQ) I agree with Abercrombie's post, but will add to it that any airline organisation will be impressed if you show a real and palpable love for flying, along with a willingness, on your own part, to research what the job is all about (safety, IMHO!).

Even simple things like understanding the fleet makeup - not the lipstick kind - but the mix of Airbus and Boeing, an understanding of the difficulties of the job (hotel room issues, transport issues, non ID travel when you want it, country-specific issues especially for female crew (there is a famous story on tech-crew sites about the now defunct Lauda girls sunbaking by the pool at a hotel in the Middle East).

Little items like this will show people that you have the willingness to research your new job.

As with any interview for any job, prepare yourself as much as you can.

Hope this helps, Mr. P
