Your definition of nice? From what I've read from previous posts, if I'm not wrong, no visible scars or moles... As long as it can be concealed it should be fine...

I don't have very feminine hands I think. I don't have those gorgeous nails and slim fingertips. I feel so unconfident not! And I have ugly feet! ):

Hi highupinthesky, did you manage to become a Flight Stewardess with SQ?
nope. did not go try for SQ in the end. cos i did not what to risk what i already had. perhaps, if i really want to join SQ, i will apply for an internal transfer in future... its all about timing.

Eh.. My hands also not very feminine. On the contrary, I think they looked quite manly. Haha. But I don't think it's an issue (I'm like living in denial). You'll never know until you try out. Feet won't be an issue dear, cos I read somewhere you can wear stockings if your toe nails are not painted. =)

Hello! Since the skin check will be conducted while we're in the uniform (if I'm not wrong?) so long as we do not have any visible scars on face or neck it should be fine right? Do we need to bun up our hair (for those with long hair) during the uniform round or can we just leave it down? Does it make a difference (ie seem more sincere/professional)?

the time when i got into round 2, yup, the skin check is done wearing the kebaya, they check face, neck, and hands not cover up by kebaya.
u got to tie up ur hair, not necessarily in a bun, i tied mine up in a pony tail.

Im thinking of going for the SIA interview on the 21st of september 08 but I have those two problems( 2 visible cp on face & acne discoloration on the back) .will concealing as much as possible (altho can still be visible a lil) helps?

There was a girl who attended my talk a few months ago had 2 chicken pox marks next to her eye. She was booted a few times at the kebaya round. She came and consulted me and now she happily flying with SQ (her 1st month flying).

I have a mole on my shoulder and I think it would be visible with kebaya on. It's about 4 mm in diameter. Would that pose a problem?

for stockings, they will ask u to remove. perhaps try sally hansen spray on stockings?? available at watsons. as for the footwear, you have to wear their slippers.

they will not ask you to remove stockings. however as you walk the kebaya slit might open so
1) make sure you walk in small steps so that the slit would not reveal too much of your legs
2) if the discolouration/ scars is veryveryvery obvious even through the slit then you may want to consider sally hansen. if not stockings are perfectly fine
and stop worrying about how your hands look! as long as u have no obvious scars, be confident about yourself and you will make it through

SQ to hire 2000 more cabin crew
I’m taking this as a positive sign that the flight industry is coming back, perhaps now it is finally safe to say that SG is reopened for good.

Sad day for many SIA crew, losing their jobs, hope they can soon get back to their jobs.
Pilots are taking 50-60% paycuts to keep their jobs.
