Angiezz & thesean76: for the 3 plus 4 mths training, will we have tests and exams very frequently? is the passing rate good?
And for the water confidence test, do you have batchmates who do not possess swimming skills and yet ablt to pass this round? i am very worried for this component.
would appreciate your kind inputs.
thanks!
be my escapade.

we do see some bigger sized stewards/stewardess at the airport but when it comes to interview, they didnt stated in the requirement to be within BMI normal range..
Many of them join young and slim but as time goes by they become a bit older and fatter. When you fly longer you became more comfortable with the working environment and tends to eat more and With extra $$ to spend in a new lifestyle you eat more too, so you become a PPS (Pui Pui Stewardess) Some of them are on medication which cause them to put on weight too. To be on the heavy side when you want to join....very difficult. For your infor, guys BMI is 25 and girls is 22

arrr.. i see.. but as far as I know.. there's this hot issue of not wanting malay people working as a cabin crew.. for girls.. there's quite a number of them.. but for guys... I dont really know..
cause for myself .. im a malay..
There is no such rule !!! There are a lot of other races in there.
.. i dont know whether im good looking or not.. heh
Post your picture up and we can help you to determine that
you guys mentioned about dont give up.. and keep trying.. and when a person reaches 30+ years old... and still he/she didnt get in still after numerous interviews...
it will be ridiculous right..?
Yes, its ridiculous. One need to take a hard look at themselves and ask themself whether they have what it takes to be a Flight Attendant. Looks, weight, height, education qualification, service attribute...etc. Forumer here is always nice and the only thing that they can say here is "don't give up, keep on trying" only the person her/himself knows whats the problem, we don't even know how you looks like so can't really give other comments.

well...there are air stewardess that did not meet the requirement, u can c from the airport itself, diff kind of shape n complexion also have...not mentioning the height..but again its all depend from the eye of the juges, wat they c...from thejob... individuals. So im not surprise if theres any cabin crew with without meeting the requirement...coz we r talking bout customer service here.....ppl c how we werk, talk, n handled things...i do agree looks are bonus...like a package...but...overall is the quality of the individual...the passion n attitude for the job....
Peace out..

Stewardess use to be very pretty last time but about 5-6 years ago there is a shift from looks to education and qualities. That explain why the looks factor of the stewardess now is no longer there. Height, +/- 1cm due to human error during the measurement is unavoidable. Weight, very low chances of you seeing any trainees that are PPS. Again the one you saw at the Airport are those already started flying and you can easily put on 2-3 kg in one week, not to mention after a few years of flying. You can be suspended from flying if you were to be seen as big and bursting out of that tight kabaya. All you need is someone reporting you in

Yuppers fully agree with Rynn, a lil healthy pressure is all good
But do not over do it. Like Sun Tze mentioned, know thy enemy and know oneself - you will conquer all (hope I translated it correctly).
It does help to know what is expected and what you expect so that both parties expectations can meet
Just my puny 2 cents worth.

SQ to hire 2000 more cabin crew
I’m taking this as a positive sign that the flight industry is coming back, perhaps now it is finally safe to say that SG is reopened for good.

Sad day for many SIA crew, losing their jobs, hope they can soon get back to their jobs.
Pilots are taking 50-60% paycuts to keep their jobs.
