I'm supposed to go for fitting by sat, yourself too?
i signed my bond on wed ... went to do the fitting todae =) cya on mon

By the way, really thanks alot for your information. Ya, i cut fringe all the time. Now i cut my hair short is to cover the birthmark on my neck. Everytime i go for interview i conceal it but abit troublesome, need to always check on it.Angiezz wrote:Cythx, what's the diameter of the mark and is it light enough to be concealed?
Apart from beauticians, did you happen to also try skin doctors?
I understand that we're allowed to keep fringes above the eyebrow.
What would you think of lasering the birthmark, going for interview and keeping a hairstyle which has a neat short fringe above your brow to hide the mark if it ever regrows?
It's hard to believe that birthmarks can never be removed. I understand that several sessions might be required but do you think a doctor might be able to treat it better than just beauticians?
Some beauticians use electrocauter while doctors might use CO2 laser so there is a difference.
A friend who visited a beautician for mole removal also had to go for the 2nd touch up because true as it was, it may regrow and require additional sessions to nip the problem from the root.
Perhaps the birthmark is similar, just that more sessions are required.
I'm not in the position to say further tho, but do try calling up or visiting some skin doctors to have it properly assessed before you deem it impossible.![]()
I just wonder if you could try lasering it till it's 1st cleared, then go for the interviews. If you do pass, you can always conceal and keep a fringe. The regrowth would usually be smaller. If need be, you could try some more sessions and who knows, have it eventually removed by a gd doc.
I just hope I'm not giving you any false hopes. Do fill me in on wat a proper skin doctor advises you tho. & gd luck really...![]()
Cookiedoll, yeah I just signed the papers earlier today. They gave me a cd-rom of several topics. I'm supposed to study it and prepare for a quiz on the 2nd day of training, which is next tues. If you don't get 80%, you fail, that's what was written on the note that came along with it.![]()
That's sure a warm welcome to the job and a wonderful thing to have on your mind over the wkend...
I will go find out the skin doctor in Malaysia that is good... Really thanks for your info...

Hi, I hav also passed my 1-1 interview n will be going for e management round on friday.. May I know if we need to wear very formal, as in suit n office wear? Cuz i was told to wear formal on 1-1 interview (by a fren), but I seem to see many gals wearing dress or tube n still passed the interview.. need some advice here, dun wanna wear suit n den appear overkill... thanks alot to whoever who will be kind enough... cheers! ^^
PeterPan07, the photocopies of the bankbook and stuff are just things they'll need should you pass your management round. correct me if i'm wrong though Abercrombie senior. haha.
Guest2607, imo i think it'd be best to wear formal. with a tie will do just fine. no need to go to extreme lengths with the suit and all.

This time in Penang i get back the same interviewer. Really shit. This is my 8th attemp. What should i do so that i can pass the first round. It's been long time i didn't pass the first round. Really miss that moment i pass the first round and manage to go until 1-1 on January.. There must be something wrong in me need to change... Some one please guide me through... thanks
Dreamygurl, they won't scrutinize your appearance the way the kebaya rd did. However, since they are from the management, I believe they'll have the last say if they deem that something isn't right. So no harm in looking your best.
At stc's management interview rm, interviewees are seated abt 2m away from the two interviewers.
I guess they do wish to view you in entirety and possibly read into your body language during your ans. Saying so coz they're no longer asking qns which test you, but rather personal stuff like backgd, family etc so as to ease you into talking...lol
They won't scrutinize your skin, but the appropriate dressing can make a difference especially if your last rd is at stc instead of sheraton on the same day.
Like Guest2607 said, there were many who wore informally to sheraton but got thru anyway so I guess it's more important to just be yourself.
I wore smart casual (blazer atop a blouse and dark denims) to stc thinking it was ok coz sheraton had people dressing down so much more and still proceeding to be judged by the management. Unfortunately for me, everyone else were wisely dressed up so I stood out like a prick...LoL
I was even asked "May I ask something, would you normally wear jeans to an interview?"
I was taken aback but answered to the best of my ability, saying that I understand that it could have been acceptable at sheraton but possibly not at stc as I just realized. But in contrast to some who overdo it by appearing with red polish, lip stick and bunned up hair as tho they're on the job already, I thought it might be better to be myself and let the rest of me show thru from there instead of being too extreme or overzealous.
2 days after that, majority of the interviewees wore denims to stc but they got thru anyway. There's safety in numbers if you're not dressed up but I've since learnt that there's no point in compromising your situation...lol All the best this tues!
Cythx, try recalling how you performed the time you passed, any idea what difference there was which helped you thru? I believe you've got much of the eloquence, poise and pleasant looks of which they seek since you've gotten to the management rd before. I'm not sure what could be holding you back but what do you think the inconsistent area is...If it isn't the outlook, do you think it might have been that you were alil too nervous?
If at your constant best, I think it might get you thru to the end. However confidence can affect one's performance and consistency greatly.
Just smile, talk lengthily with passion while intro-ing yourself, maintain eye contact with the interviewers while looking around at the rest in the rm as if you were comfortably presenting to them all, remain relaxed but standing with poise and laugh it off if ever nervous...it helps Loads! Being well prepared would boost your confidence but imho it might be gd not to sound over-rehearsed/scripted during the execution, as if reciting a passage...
I think injecting some humour into your words can help to loosen yourself and those ard you too, while making you look comfortable, fun and outstanding.
Good luck on the next interview, when's that btw?
Before joining, I came across some posts here ( http://www.singaporeexpats.com/forum/su ... ht=#319270 ) which did lead me to think it could be you. Apart from the posts it was also your nick...lol
Was only 85% sure tho but of course once again it's a joy to bump into someone you know here...
I really can't wait till I cya at stc in june, you & Pris alike!
