hi everyone

Post by dreamchaser » Thu, 28 Feb 2008 9:36 am

hi,my first time posting a message here =)

I had gone for the January interview as im planning early for my career switch and to pursue my dream before i turn 30..=p I was v blessed to pass through all rounds...filled with some personal struggles along the way.... I had to fork out $150 for the 2nd xray of the spine....fortunately, i passed dat too....=)

I should be one of the happiest person on Earth when I received the phonecall from HR 2 days after my 2nd x-ray. I'm currently under a bond for my job but am ready to pay for the remaining unserved periods. Much to my horror, the HR of my current company gave me the inaccurate amount of the damages involved earlier on. After taking more than 2 weeks to request for a proper breakdown of the damages, I still have to figure out the exact calculations on my own.

In the end, I had to email to SIA to indicate a much later date for commencement of work.

It is coming to a week since my email was sent...no replies yet. Even though I know I should be patient and wait, I cannot help but to feel upset as I waited 8 years to be given this chance to pursue my dream. I'm not young anymore. Much as I refuse to admit, im feeling terrible as I'm not confident that SIA will wait for me for more than 6 months...=(

my apology for the whinning...lowest point of my life at this time...my "sob" story....

Hi nnutty,

do not worry over nothing babe. I feel that confidence plays a big part in it. I m sure you are as gorgeous as those other babes who went to the interview.

Please just attend the interview if you think you really want to b part of the SIA family. You will not lose out anything & I believe that you can even make friends at the queue.

If you are demoralised, then I should bang myself against the wall. The furthest I went was round 2, which was back in many years ago. & now, I do not even have 5 O level credits, only hold a private diploma. I went for the interview in January & was so petrified that they will say "I am sorry, but you do not qualify for an interview!"

In the end, when the lady briefly check the form, she never commented anything, but I didnt even get into 2nd round. Anyway, I am planning to go there this coming recruitment again! :) Good luck to all!!

Hi dreamchaser,

Don't be upset. Everything will turn out well! I'm inspired by your determination.....8 years!

They have no reason to reject you becuase you have passed everything! Just be patient. They may take some time.

BTW, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you? And how many times did you try before you are successful?

I wish i would be accepted by SIA soon. Sigh!
Yours Truly

Hi nnutty,

that's great. Hope to hear gd news! :) For skin wise, have ample sleep & plain water. Cleanse your skin thoroughly at least twice a day. Apply moisturizer and toner as well. Use a mask once a week.

I am praying hard that I do not any zits that day though. In any case, if there are visible scars or marks or dark eye circles, use a good concealer.

I went on Monday, starting in two weeks time. Signing the bond is only a few days before training start.

They're very efficient so i believe you'll get the call soon if you cleared medical. :)
