I went for the walk in interview today as well and was actually VERY surprised that I managed to get through the kebaya round. I think it's very subjective when you say girls with bad complexion can't make it through because I have a couple of moles and some freckles on my face and yet I got through the round.
I guess it's alot on how you portrayed yourself during the 'walk' as I believe it's very important on how comfortable you are in the kebaya as well as your overall presentation and how you carry yourself. I've got girls in perfect flawless complexion as well and they didn't make it through. Although to a certain extent though, I thought that the shoulder, one being higher than the other when you walk, was quite weird, I guess the interviewers had their own set of rules. I guess the secret would be to keep that smile going for you cos that's what I did.
So girls, I guess it all lies in your confidence when you strut and that award winning smile!
hello there. may i know how the skin check is being carried out?

superpinkystar wrote:i have stopped trying for sq for about 2 years.
partly the reason was that i was on full medication because of my acne outbreak.
but this year, i decided to try my luck again at the walk in.
i have since fully recovered but still going under medication, i am just left with a bit of scarring which could be easily concealed.
if not, chemical peeling.
i am totally disappointed at the walk in today.
there were so many beautiful girls, cabin crew material.
height, qualifications etc.
i got into 2nd round (kebaya/skin check)
i was the only one in my group who made it to round 2. (it was a blessing in disguise)
i could not believe my eyes how they actually scrutinise girls during the skin check round.
one of the girls i made friends with was not allowed to go for the skin check because when she was walking up and down the room to check for posture. the lady actually told her she has high shoulders, i was like wtf???
like this, she was out.
another one, had a mosquito mark on her leg and the lady thought it was mark!! again, she was out.
i was out too because of my acne marks.
gosh..
you know how hard we girls try to be cabin crew.
yet, people run us down like that.
so, do you expect us to be model like material?
don't mind me, i am just rambling out my thoughts.
hey.. I have some problem with my back as well. Just like some acne scars. Can u share with me more abt the treatment for back, like the cost, pills and cream for the back..

it seems so...
i shall repost my question earlier
was asking the guys who went for the recent interview... i know a short neat haircut is more appropriate, but does that mean my current japanese hairstlye (medium length and wavy) is a no-no for interviewers?
i have naturally dark eye rings and they are kinda serious. (no amt of concealer or eye cream helps) not an ideal air steward image, i guess? =(

I suppose it depends on how you carry yourself. If your current hairstyle suits your character and looks neat (wavy hair also can be neat) when you go for interview, I don't see why they will really think its a no-no.
As for the dark eye rings, try to conceal to your best effort. No harm trying for the interview, you might have the qualities that they are looking for.

I alreeady start preparing for next interview..more on figure out how to improve my weakness..for first rnd, public speaking and formal English speaking..to achieve this, I stop listening to MP3 but listen to radio FM, listen to their conversation and ans them using proper english by myself (kinda idiot~~), and I speak English to most of the ppl during my work..but they using singlish most of the time..it is very hard for me for not to be affected..
there is rumor that recruitment will held again Jan 2008??!! Will you consider others airline??

Hehe don't worry, all the hard work will be worth it when you get selected, nobody will dare laugh at you for talking to the radio then. Continue to try to converse in proper english with them, you are practicing ma not them. Cannot give up k.
Ya rumoured but not sure if its really true... Seems like they recruited a lot of girls this time round, plus they are recruiting from other countries as well. Am worried that they might hit their quota for intake then they won't hold it so soon...
Nope not considering others, stick to SIA hehe. You intend to join others?

SQ to hire 2000 more cabin crew
I’m taking this as a positive sign that the flight industry is coming back, perhaps now it is finally safe to say that SG is reopened for good.

Sad day for many SIA crew, losing their jobs, hope they can soon get back to their jobs.
Pilots are taking 50-60% paycuts to keep their jobs.

They can come here but not so much for local going there.
