Doesn't jeopardize - Just be prepared to answer when the question "Why do you want to be a cabin crew when you already have a good degree" or "Don't you find this job a bit low for someone who has done a degree in ..." along those lines.

Plenty of graduates around. Nothing unique anymore.

Does a degree jeopardise or increase your chance of entering into SIA??

assuming...in the physical & personality aspects.....one is ok...
You may be interested to know there are lots of graduates in jobs that considered below their calibre; here in the UK I have known such people work as hospital porters, station assistants, shop assistants, bus drivers and other jobs. What matters is what you are going to be happy with and what benefits you see in the job of your choice. As toygirl says be ready for the question(s).

woodstock wrote:autumn-reverie, can u pls check on the SIA handbook..... do they allow cabin crew to highlight/color/perm their hair? And.. do they allow eyebrow embroidery too?
Hey woodstock dear!
it's as Deeenah mentioned :)
we're not allowed to highlight or streak our hair, and colouring can only be a shade of dark brown which looks natural on you. Perming should be fine as long as it's not overly curly. i do see quite a few seniors with lovely curls :D hm.. they didn't seem to mention eyebrow embroidery specifically but eyebrow tattooing is not advisable.
Generally, we have to uphold the image of the Singapore Girl as a natural beauty full of Asian warmth & grace!

Oohlala dear,
don't worry too much k? There's nothing we can do except pray! and i'll be praying for you :) looking forward to hearing good news from you!

hi ciaffection,

dun worry its not sumetin so obvious or serius coz I haf one too near my wrist n two very tiny brown spot near my fingers. They still pass me!

Hi,

I have a birthmark on my right wrist. Will I have lesser chances to be pick? becos i believe that SIA is more concern with birthmarks than moles.

Mine birthmark is like faded but visible. its the size of half a 5 cent coin.
Pls advice.
Is there any way i can cover it? or should i declared it in the registration form?

Thanks.

Hihi,

I went for the Etihad interview...It is kind of weird i find..anyway i think i nv get in cos they say will get back to me within 1 week to let me know the venue of the 3nd interview if i were to be choosen but my frds they all got a piece of paper to make appointment for the next interview...so i guess i'm out... Anyway i do not meet their requirement of "CLean and EVEN set of teeth"....the interviewer was starring at my mouth looking at my teeth thruout the interviewer....you can just feel it...

Hey anyone know how's SQ cabin crew salary package is like? DO they pay basic and PER HOUR flying allowances and layover allowances like Emirates or they pay Basic, PER DUTY day and layover allowances like Etihad?

HI Deenah, thanks for replying.... How's training for you?

I will be waiting patiently for the interview with SIA to come.. but i am kind of worried about my teeth prob....wonder if SIA would mind crooked teeth...so far i manage to go to round 3 without prob...but wonder during mgmt round they will make u open ur mouth and look into ur teeth....

I have not started training yet. It's gonna start next monday!

I think the main checking round for your teeth would be at the kebaya round. But bear in mind that the 1-1 interview and the management interview are rounds where they can see you talk and see your teeth alignment. So as long as it is not too noticeable it should be okie :)
