Hi there. Just thought that I would share my experience with those who wanted to know the way the interview went yesterday.

I was in the 9am round.
8 of us went in for the self-introduction round,
only 5 was selected.

Then came the kebaya fitting where 2 outta 5 was being picked.

Me and another lady who had been flying with another airline was left.
Waited pretty long for the 1 on 1 interview. (And I seriously hated that)

It was my turn to be interviewed. These are some questions which me and another few were asked

1. " What is your greatest weekeness "
2. " When you said you put in effort for this interview, tell me what you did"
3. " If you didn't get this job, what would you do ? "
4. " What is your favourite food ? "
5. " What are your short comings ? "

Mine was the 1st question and she asked me quite a number of other questions as well...
It was really tensed ( for me that is )

Eventually I was told to wait in the waiting area and the lady came out to inform me that I was supposed to come on monday for their medical check up.

The other lady that was left with me, didn't make it.
I'm the only 1 that made it outta 8 of us. Its really scary.

Esp the guys, 8 , all good looking and confident, they only chose 2 and left with one.

They picked out 1 from group 2 and 2 from group 3.
Guess they really stick by the rule of chosing only 10%.

Anyways good luck for the upcoming interviews !!!
Have faith and don't give up !!
=)

It was actually very scary. The waiting time.. kills me..
Mine was actually the 1st question. I just told her that my greatest weekness is to be very nervous and then have no idea what I'm talking about.

But I told her I did told myself that I shouldnt give myself any more pressure and should just calm myself down.

Other questions were from the other girls and dudes that went in before me.. But I know if they were to ask you what was your fave food, try saying local delicacies. You gotta love your own crusine.

Congrats sherrielynn!!!

can i ask you a few questions?

1) so there are 3 rounds altogether? not 4?
- intro
- fitting
- one-to-one?
no management round?

2) did you smile during your interviews?

3) any idea what kind of people they are looking for?

4) when is your training starting?

Well for mine was
- self intro
- kebaya fitting / skin check
- 1 to 1

There wasn't any management round as mentioned but I was given a piece of paper and an application form to come back on monday which states "final interview that would last around 3 hours".

2. I try to remind myself as often as I can, I've to smile. But usually when we get nervous, we can't really think. lol.

3. From what I can conclude from my group, I guess they weren't looking for girls under 20, and based on what the other girls in my group were saying, they weren't looking for perfect answers either. Just on how the way you actually give your answer. I was really nervous, but I just talked slowly cuz if I were to start stuttering, pretty sure they would know I do not have the confidence.

4. I'm not sure when the training will start because I believe theres a medical check up to go.

5. Yes, hair bands are being provided during the kebaya fitting.

And on a side note, I realised (while waiting) there were a few girls who wore skimpy clothings ( like sliver leggings, short skirts, red heels ). On personal comment, I feel that you didn't give your interviewers feel that you really make an effort to dress up ? And you're taking this interview not very seriously. It is always the 1st impression that counts. So maybe a proper skirt and skirt would be nice.
Girls from my team, wore either a 1 piece office dress or formal shirt and skirt. Didn't recall them wearing pants.

Not a prob. =)

My 1st round ? As in the self introduction ? I was asked nothing. But my friend who went around 2pm, after their self introduction, they were asked,
"What is the most unglam thing about being a cabin crew?"

Her interviewers and mine was different though.

Eh, I had like 3 pimples on my right side of my cheek yesterday. LOL
Pointer from a friend whose flying, the kebaya has slits, so it would be better if you take smaller steps. Do not walk till your shin/tighs can be seen.

No worries, these are just information on what I've been thru yesterday. Hoping it can be a rough guide.

This I ain't sure. I was actually hoping they massive hire yesterday since they are not gonna hire so much in 2009. Guess I was wrong.

I heard they might this month ? Not too sure.

Yeah, its my 1st attempt for SIA. Not too sure about how many they hired. But they should hire enuff to make a batch outta yesterday's interview.

There were quite a handful that was waiting for their turn.
Eh,I'm not pretty then again not very ugly either. I guess its all about how to potray yourself.

And I'm not sure if I'm really in yet. Cuz I still need to go back for the final interview on monday. Which I don't even know what is there to expect. lol.
