Now waiting for my medical results before SIA declares me a flight stewardess!!!! hehe...

alright..... i have asked the HR lady, there will be a recruitment in mid or end jan next year... so those who're still trying go for it yea... not to be too worry about how many crew they gonna take coz they are really really short of crews due to the flying route increase and bigger aircraft coming in... so what ya waiting for??? go brush up on what you're lacking and i'm sure you'll succeed one day

I only succeed at my 9th attempt... 8-)

Did you ask what standard are they referring to? Standard like attitude, work performances, pretty or not ....etc. ask them which one they are referring to.
There are alot of people who says the stewardess now are not pretty, maybe thats because they are looking for different things now. Work attitude wise new generation, new thinking, attitude wise there are alot of graduate in the airline now and they think differently of themselves. End of the day its what the company wants at that given moment the determines who goes through and not we the people on the street to decide. The beauty queen does not necessary be the most beautiful girl

Hi Abercrombie, can I know how accurate is your insider info? And do you happen to know when the next recruitment is going to be? hehe thanks.
Not 100% sure when is the next interview but 80% sure that it should be around end of Jan- early March. 100% sure that they are very very short of crew for the 1st quarter of 2008 untill the current batches of new trainee graduated in late April
So I am not too far off ya  Too bad alot of post had been lost due to the data corruption or else you will be able to find out more about the logic of having the interviews during that date

Okay... I'm gonna share with you Venie's Mgmt round at STC today :)

Reached there at 9am but my appt is at 10am... an hour early... :???:

anyway submitted the form and sat in a room to wait for ya name to be called.. there were about 15 girls there plus a guy.. keke..

4 girls were out, the rest plus the guy were all selected..

questions asked were similar to 1-to-1 interview...
more of like abt youreself, current job, why wanna quit, why wanna join SIA.. some got qns like what you know abt SIA bla bla bla..

for me.. was a short one.. i was in there less than 10 mins..
they ask about my current job, why wanna quit, if given the chance to join SIA, how long gonna stay with SIA...

but i did my homework... here's a list of commonly asked qns to help those going for mgmt round and 1to1 interview..
-tell me abt yourself & your family
-why do you wanna join SIA as a cabin crew?
-why cabin crew and not any other frontline job?
-what qualities does a cabin crew needs to acquire?
-why do you want to switch a career?
-why wanna leaveyour current job?
-what are the roles of a cabin crew?
-what makes a good customer service?
-where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years time?
-how serious are you about being a cabin crew?
-why are you not selected from your previous attempts?
-what make you think i (SIA staff) will want you to join us as a cabin crew?
-if you're not successful, what are your plans?
-name me 5 cities that SIA flies to
-what do you know about SIA?
-what are the aircraft SIA currently has?
-what is the recent news you know about SIA?

for me, i feel that once you're inside you have to talk and keep smiling. they love ppl who smiles.
show them that you really wanted the job very very much.
dress in proper formal wear, doesn't necessary need to be in blazers but good to bring one.

my interviewers were 2 females, they were very friendly.

my medical checkup consist of:
Urine test
height & weight
eyesight
eye blindness
blood pressure
breast check ( the doc will check for any lump in the breast)
X-ray

alright, Q&A time!!! let me know what you wanna know i try my best to help.
