Hi, im curious to find out if people with medical background of Asthma has been accepted into SIA?

I have outgrown it 9 years ago, so do i state that i had Asthma before on the Application Form? And how about those with scoliosis, did you guys state it on the form?

Also, on the educational qualifications that sector, i'm supposed to write all the subjects i took during O'levels and the grades i scored, am i right?

Sorry for the multiple questions cause it's my first going for the interview.

Do advise though, thanks! :)

if u r worried, maybe u should get a medical report stating that u r cleared of those symptoms.. iirc, as for scoliosis cases, u cant have cobbed angles of 20 degrees or more..

n if i were u, i would only write all the subjects that i have got d7 or better.. there are enough columns for about 10 subjects, which i think should be sufficent..

last but not least, dont panic, do some background research for the interview~

Now i probably won't have enough time to get the medical cert to prove i'm free from Asthma for 9 years. So should i just state that in the form? Including the mild scoliosis i have (which the specialist brush off as very mild and nothing big deal).

ha, if i were u, i would be honest about it... iirc, they will confirm the details and ask about ur medical history at the end of the management interview..

i recall reading in this forum that there r people with scoliosis (must be less than 20 degrees) n managed to get in..

Meaning i should just state that i suffered from asthma when i was young. And that i have mild scoliosis too. Im afraid the asthma part might hinder chances of getting accepted.

i think honesty is still the best policy. health checkups and declarations are required for a reason - your own safety..

I will just include all those info in (cause im debating within whether to include initially), anyway they'll be doing a medical checkup at the end of the interviews (if got thru) and that will probably determine whether one is physically fit for the job.

Okay, thanks alot for the comments. Keeping fingers crossed till Sunday comes by!

In fact SQ did send its Flight Attendant to attend a 5 days Outward Bound School at Pulau Ubin. Its objective is to promote teamwork, communication, self confident etc. This is only for the flying crew and not for the trainee. The programe had since been stop after the SARS outbreak in an attempt to cut cost :-|

Thats fun! It's a shame they have discontinued it. I've been to those camps and the programmes are really effective.
