anyone going for the interview on 7 january at 9.20am???
Well for me, true it has been my childhood dream to be a stewardess but recently after much research, I don't find it glamorous at all. In fact it actually made me more interested to be a stewardess. It's a very challenging job with demanding pax and bossy senior collegues. You also will have to take care of pax's inflight safety as well as their hearts. Onboard, you can be a waitress, a nurse, a counsellor, a receptionist, a babysitter, etc. All this in one person. Who can actually do all these? Stewardess are trained professionally but the perceptions of others are negative. We, FA wannabes have researched and we know our passion, the highs and lows of the job. This is our dream and we're gonna make it!cream wrote:sorry i dun mean to be a wet blanket. But why do u pple view this job as a dream job n stuff ? I dun understand statements like its has always been my childhood dreams to fly...
Thanks for the valubale info. Let's cross our fingers and hope that we'll be invited for the first round of interview!singaporegrrl wrote:Well, the first round is always the self-intro session. Focus on the 3 elements I've mentioned earlier (it was 3 or 4 pages ago so I think you've missed it): why you wanna be FA, why the airline, and what are the talents that you are bringing to the airline. If you have a list of them, try to talk in chronological order coz in this way, they could see that you are organised. Practice in the mirror and practice talking to someone(to your pet dog if you have to) coz you can feel the tense when someone is looking at you. I practice with my boyfriend. Never wear casual. Business suit is always the best. Treat it as if you are making an important deal. Be professional and confident. Of course, never forget to smile. Smile to everyone you meet. The girl at the front counter too coz she's the eye to the interviewer outside the interview room. Even to the ones you meet in the toilet coz you never know that that person might just be the interviewer you're meeting later.Trish wrote:hi jenga, jenga wrote:hi all,
can anyone advise on the first round of interview? like dress code, wat kind of questions will be asked etc...
i had nv attended the interview b4 so nt v sure wat kind of questions they will ask...but u definitely have to do a self-intro of urself.maybe they will also ask how much u noe abt SIA and y shld they hire u and y of all airlines u choose SIA? hope someone who attended the interview b4 will advise on the qns ask. as for dress code, i think a black formal or business suit is the best as u will look more professional.
I'm still patiently waiting for my invitation although it's giving me the tense. By the way, anyone who wanna add me on MSN: [email protected]
i dont quite agree? if you have been to any of the 1st round interviews, you know the questions are random? never it has been the case of self intro for all? the list of questions you have mentioned are generic ones and i would advise all to know what might be the questions so you can prepare a bit but not to the extend of a "speech". that will be sucidal and reasons why, probably you can fill me in when you're done?singaporegrrl wrote:Well, the first round is always the self-intro session. **touch wood** maybe his invite is on the way...Don't make him lost hope till he himself decided to give up..hiccup wrote:So envy for you, ladies! Unfortunately, not for the guys.
My friend (man) tried for his second time. Up till now, no news from SIA. I guess, must tell him to give up.
He sent in his 'soo-ku' decent photograph (together with CV and application on 12 December) and I nearly laugh-off my seat when I saw his picture. From his decent photograph, he looks like a blur-cock but the fantastic thing is, he has a CPL with I/R. That shows that he has enthusiaism in flying. This friend of mine can speaks Spanish fairly well, really quiet, can tahan 'sai-kgarng' and capable in doing one man show. He started his business and later collasped. He felt so shameful and never declared under the column of the job status in his application form.
He has lots of achievement yet his application look so blank. May be SIA find him boring and never call him for interview. Poor thing, looks like SIA doesn't want him.

Yes, its a must to bring your birth cert, as you will have to leave your IC with the security in exchange for an entry pass at the main gate. Thus, you need your birth cert to prove your identity when the staff are checking your originals before your group interview.jerlyn wrote:yes my dear, its stated on the invite.
