Dependent Pass processing time when applied together with EP

Post by papakutkut » Thu, 27 May 2010 9:51 am

Hi All,

The normal time for processing of DP application is stated as 4-5 weeks by MoM. But what in case it is applied for, together with EP (online application) ? Is the result known together with EP (which is normally 1 week as stated on the website).

Thanks & Regards

Yes, I am aware of that, my question is, what if it is applied together with EP. Since the processing time for an EP is normally 1-2 weeks for online applications, does it get approved in the same time as well.

Did you have a problem understanding what the site indicated? Far as I can tell the passes are of two different types. Therefore the processing times are different. Having said that, they may get it done sooner, but it's no guarantee. If that was the norm for combined applications, I believe MOM would have said so on their site. They are pretty comprehensive on the site. :-|

Plan on what the site says and then anything more is a bonus. Otherwise, all you will do is start fretting for no reason.

Hello,

It can be faster than that though you can expect to encounter the normal processing time.

In my case my EP (P2) took 24 hrs to get approved from time of filing online and the DP was filed after my EP getting approved; the DP took around 48 hours to get approved.

Good luck and do update this thread once you get to know so that others can get an idea on processing times too.

PS. you can check your application status online in real time from MOM website.

FaeLLe, it also has to be taken into consideration where the poster is from. Also, I factor in the possibility that he's already job hopped here and he's not even been here one year yet. I'm sure the government is taking that into consideration as well. He wanted to job hope last September after only being here two months. Was advised to wait at least 6 months. Of course things have tightened up even more since then.

Mmm in light of other circumstances but of course the person would have other factors to consider.

what actually happens is the dependant comes in anyway on a social pass, the dependant pass will not be issued until finger printing has been done. You my well get your IPL, but i'm pretty sure, you will not get the dependant pass within 4 to 5 weeks, due to the electronic application system...when its your turn you will be called in for interview, to check all documentation is done correctly. Even if it is, you will still have to be finger printed before getting a dependant pass. so the spouse will be given a social visit pass, probably 2 months, the dependant pass should be ready within 4 to 5 weeks.

SMS is also correct to say there are many factors involved, like which Country the application is from, vetting and checks will be done without a doubt. So 4 to 5 weeks i would say one should expect. Not that its any big deal, its a formality unless you don't meet the criteria.

Yes you can, whether she is in or out of singapore.

Of course DP can be rejected for several reasons such as declaration of false statements or lack of documentation.
But if u go by the book and defined laws u should be ok. The gahmen knows u won't stay without ur wife and they would not want u to leave ur employer (who has probably invested in you) for the simple reason of not being able to maintain communal ties.

So which is it? In another thread she was your "girl fri". In this thread she is your wife.

And don't you have enough letters on your keyboard to spell 'friend'?

Now is my girl friend only because we hvn't marriage yet.
We have planned to marriage,
the problem is I tried to register at ROM, the solemnisation date was quite far (cannot get date within a month or two)
she can stay sg with social visit pass only 60 days.

in this period, her Spass was rejected by 2 times.

so I m thinking to marriage in our country rather than in sg, and after that I want to apply for her DP.

I guess you can try whatever you want. And, it looks to me like a marriage of convenience... she is girl friend until she cannot get a work pass... then presto!... she is wife to get dependent's pass. The gahmen will see this and wonder. If she was rejected for an S Pass because of employer quotas, maybe you have a chance. But if rejected because of her own credentials, then I'd say you are SOOL.
