How difficult is it to get work in Singapore

Postby aussies3 » Fri, 29 Oct 2004 7:10 pm

Hi all
Just wondering how difficult it is to find work in Singapore. My wife has been employed for 2 years and I will be looking for work. I currently work as a clerk but I am open to anything. My experience has been in the hosptal and disability fields but again I am open to a new challenge. I will be arriving in Singapore in January.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

If you have healthcare qualifications, then sounds like it may not be too bad to get a job here.......

Follow this link to check all the hospitals and nursing homes to see if yr special skill can be fully tapped...

Theres one thing you should watch out for though. Being an Aussie probably means you have some sort of criminal record right? Bread stealing perhaps ;-)

You might want to keep that one under the carpet. Anyways, food is very cheap here, so no worries cobber

Hi Rosamaria,
You need to get a job first before you come to Singapore to work. Foreigners need a work permit to work here. So, you can't just come to Singapore to find a job like a local. No one will employ you without a work permit. So, get a job first and the company is likely to get the work permit done for you.
Try these job agencies:
