SingNet, StarHub or ...

Post by beenthere » Fri, 21 May 2010 9:58 am

I am hoping to get advice from those in the know as to the best package to meet my (our) needs.

Three person family - 2 with smartphones.

We will need high bandwidth broadband at home - DSL will not cut it - so looking at cable providers.

I would prefer to have unlimited data plans.
I would like island-wide wifi coverage.
#of mins for calling is not that important - we tend to yap face to face.

this is where one man's food is another man's poison.

with the bundle deals from the telco, and your requirements, it would be difficult to say which telco is best for you.

you want tv with it? 3G broadband? line speed? data? duration? hardware?

Yesh, my poisson may just be your fish.

Yes, I would like TV - especially be able to watch trash TV from back home (US). Currently I get > 10Mbs download from my cabel provider (US is still behind in terms of broadband bandwidth).

A nice bundle that packages TV, net access, mobile with 3G+ ...

Is there 4G in Singapore? Is HD readily available on cable? Many questions...

Anyone can point me to other resources NOT from Singtel/StarHub?

Danke...

Just see which gives the best freebies!

If you are after US tv shows then Starhub, if you want to watch proper footbal (soccer) or F1 then you'll need to get Singtel from later this year.

Yeah, I got a great deal from Starhub then found out about the football. Oh well, at least I have an excuse to sit in the bar at the weekends now!
