Health Insurance for Couple (including pregnancy coverage)

Post by sydneycouple » Tue, 11 May 2010 4:40 pm

Hi All,

We are looking at moving over to Singapore with my company, but will need to get our own health insurance. We are in the middle of getting indicative costs for our budget to ensure we can afford the move.

Does anyone have any approximate costs of how much health insurance is for a couple which would include hospital, general extras and pregnancy/birth related coverage? And any recommendation companies?

I searched the forum but didn't see any costs, so if anyone could help out it would be appreciated.

It depends on what kind of coverage you want to have: full, partial etc. As well as do you want to be covered for both in and outpatient services. Do you want to include dental services as well? Additionally, your age, your spouses age and medical history matters. Nobody will give you figures without knowing more about you. What you can do is to look for brokers, who can help you and create various offers from different companies, so you could choose the best option for you.
So, use the search engine to get in contact with agents.

you mentioned the move to Singapore is with your company. You may want to consider having the company to purchase a group health insurance (which you probably you get a better deal than on individual basis.)

For individual insurance, most of the insurers in Singapore have the benefits and premium rates posted online, so take a look and you should get a feel of the cost.
