Maid in heaven!

Some of you may remember me asking for advice on how to occupy my part-time maid while I was away for 8-10 weeks cos didn't want to cut her hours.
Some weeks prior to my trip I'd bought a shower curtain that wasn't long enough. So I'd painstakingly unstitched its hem and it then sufficed, but still wasn't really long enough.
After my trip, I noticed that water was splashing out from under the shower curtain onto the bathroom floor while I was showering. You guessed it. Upon close inspection I could see where the maid had lovingly hand-stitched the hem back to its original position. Perfect little stitches they were too!
You gotta love em!
And so now I battle on with the short shower curtain cos I don't have the heart to tell her that her initiative and time spent were wasted. If I unpick it again....well...you know......

Talk about a conundrum!

Can you decide somehow that the curtain doesn't quite jell with the decor of the bathroom and therefore you need to try another? But be sure to measure this time!

had something similar years ago. i had a used jam jar i use for collecting cooking fat from bacon or sausages instead of pouring it down the sink. go away for a weekend to find that the jam jar was nicely washed!!!

i bought an extra set of shower curtain rings to lower the shower curtain. may or may not work for you.

Our previous part time maid worked reversed manner in the ironing mode. If she saw a hem she always unfolded it and ironed it flat. Fortunately she never tried to unstitch anything.

Yeah I've heard that too...that thing about the Poms not showering. But where does that come from? I've never met any smelly Englishmen but I've met some from other European parts, better not mention them cos they may not let me in!

well, there's this pretty french girl at work that wears the same clothes for days at a time. we're tempted to mark her clothes (oooh...is that a straw? and dragonfruit?) to confirm but haven't bothered to do so. we haven't had any reason, though to debunk/verify the bathing stereotype.
