WP and S-pass question

Post by hide » Wed, 28 Apr 2010 4:04 pm

Hi,

I have a friend (PRC) working in childcare industry under WP for around 10 months. She have a Diploma in Childhood education (teaching) and current salary is $1600.

She found a job offer of $1800 in another center, but the application of S-pass is rejected.

1) Is it possible to still accept the job offer of $1800 while working under WP instead of S-pass?

2) Is it possible to transfer the WP to the new employer without having to go back to her country and re-apply WP?

3) What are the main differences between WP and S-pass (besides becoming a PR from S-pass, and differences in base salary)?

4) Need help/tips on getting S-pass, should she file an appeal?

Thanks!

YES

NO

The WP holder is not allowed to have any dependents with him/her while working in Singapore. Upon termination of the WP the employee must be repatriated to his/her country BEFORE another WP may be issued. If the WP holder wants to marry he/she must get permission from the MOM in order to do so. If a WP holder gets pregnant while here, they are immediately repatriated to their country.

S Pass can also bring spouse

There are not any tips to getting an S pass, you are either qualified AND the company is able to justify hiring a foreigner (and has sufficient quota) or you OR the company are not. If she was rejected for an S pass, without new, relevant information, it's a waste of time.

Thanks!

I applied the S pass on sept n it shows rejected at first.. after that i appeal once and still rejected. I wonder if they accept A-Level fr UK. Pls advise.
