Sorry to hear that - it must be such a hassle

Is there a central credit beauru where you can check your credit ratings? This is worth monitoring for additional credit lines that have been opened. There are plenty of resources on the web - mainly US based on the topic, but well worth a read anyway.

Going to the police must be first priority and they may be able to help you with the rest too.

Pointless running around, if the police actually contact the credit agencies, getting your life back can be difficult, you may even need DNA testing, to convince others to take you off the bad credit lists.

Yes ,you must report it to the police but whether they are helpful that is another thread altogether!

Loans and credit cards is their game but sometimes they resort to extortion.Alert your bank, let them know what happened.
