Hi,
I am Nathan Perez, recently moved to Singapore. I am looking to find people interested in creating a backgammon tournament here in Singapore. I was playing for some time at the Hong Kong Backgammon Club and have really enjoyed it. Obviously, the tournament is open to players of all level.
At the moment, I would just like to get a feel for the amount of people interested in playing and I'm sure we can find a good starting point for a common hobby. Please contact me if you would like to play with your availability, skill level.
Best Regards,
Nathan

Hi Nathan, I'm looking for people to play with and have a friend who is too. We are of a medium club standard but happy to play a few games with people and see how it goes. I set up and ran a regular night in the UK and the secret was consistency ie. 1. find a bar that is happy to host them, has boards kept there, so the word spreads that this is where to go if you wanna play and 2. have a club night every, say, Wednesday, again, consistency being the key, ie. people know that if the come to (Bar X) on (Weds) night they'll find a group of people to play with. Takes couple of months for the word to get round but if a core of people commit to and support it, it tends to build a head of steam.

Hi all,
We have had requests for backgammon events at Turnstyles in the City, 45 Circular Road, the first will be held on Monday 4th November from 7pm. All players of any standard are welcome and from this we will be looking to form an internal league, with trophies, prizes etc for the top players. Either call (96143004) or email
[email protected] to book a table for the events. Let's get the ball rolling and get you guys together
Regards
Neil

Hi Nathan,
Did you in the end manage to create a group of players? I would be interested.

The original posting is 5 years old, so I am not sure if you are still in Singapore or interested in playing backgammon, ....but I just wanted to let you know that when I moved to Singapore earlier this year I initially also had trouble to find people to play backgammon with, and so I started the following backgammon meetup group:
http://www.meetup.com/Singapore-Backgammon-Meetup/
We found a restaurant/bar in the East Cost willing to host us and so far managed to set up a monthly meeting.
With best regards...Hans
