which Bank account transfer wages to UK account

Post by HotMrH » Wed, 21 Apr 2010 4:54 pm

Thanks for you replies on the last topic was great infomration.
NOw looking into finances,
I have a barclay account in the UK, where my mortgage and student loan etc comes out of, so was wondering what bank account would be best to open in Singapore, considering I will have to transfer a portion of my wages ideally around $1000 a month back to my UK Barclay account, ideally I would like to do this online.
But if tehre are any tricks where I can avoid paying ridiculous transfer fees, i.e sending my mum a perosnal cheque or paying into a paypal account and then out into the barclay account through my paypal account I laready have I ouwld be much obliged if you guys could tell me.
Just looking for realistic info on how much its gonna cost me to transfer an amount ever month or every 2 months??
Thanks
H

Thanks for that, amazig advice have checke dit out and seems like the cheapest and most flexible bet.
Thanks a bunch, that leaves which bank account to join far more flexible and can now look at offers rather than transfer fees. If anyone has any advice on banks that offer good offers and some net banking let me know.

There are a number of posts in the forum on the best way to send money home (and usually your primary bank in sg is not the best option). Do a search and take a read.

that would be using a 3rd party money broker. their rates are usually better and fees/commision lower than banks.
