Hi.
I'm planning on heading to Singapore using the relatively new Working Holiday Programme Visa. I was just wondering if anyone else has done this or knows of someone who has??
I'm really keen to come over and I've just come back from a year working in Canada so I have some experience in this field. However with the program being so new I've not been able to find any testimonials from anyone who's done this before. I've not got loads of money so I'm just a little concerned that companies wont employ me as I'm only there for a short time and I wanted a bit of reassurance that I'll actually be ok finding work and somewhere to live when I get there!!
Any help greatly appreciated, many thanks. Roggum

Moving to Singapore from UK on 6 month WHP visa
Hi Roggum,
It sounds like you will be having some great adventures. The big problem you will strike here as that most people won't have heard of the program, so you might need to put together some information, like a print out of the webpage, or the letter you receive, showing that you are entitled to work in Singapore.
Once you are able to establish that you can be hired, then getting work will be easier. However, due to the short term of the visa, it might be with contracting companies that you stand the best chances. Others on here who know more about the local HR industry would be better to comment on it than me.
Just make sure you have enough cash to survive the first few months, in case the going is tougher than you expect.
Good Luck!
