GESS

Post by hially » Fri, 16 Apr 2010 10:30 am

Hello.

I am wondering if anyone else has any recent information about German European School in Singapore? Am curious about comments about both the German and English streams. I am thinking of sending my child there (speaks both German and English).

Thank you in advance!

If you want your kids surrounded by rich, spoilt brads and educated at German public school standard by teachers with German "Beamten" (public servant) mentality while paying lots for it - go for GESS!
A friend of mine, who had his daughter there, suggested teachers' consultation hours after 6pm for working parents. This was brusquely rejected: "Our working hours end at 5pm!" Tells you all about their attitude, really.

What kak.

GESS is fine and nothing like beppi's comments.

Nothing wrong with the teachers (I guess there will be good and bad - but this would apply to any school) and I have yet to come across any "rich, spoilt brads"

I'd like to hear more about the school too. Do they have a long waiting list like some other schools? Are German nationals given priority entry?
