All the sudden i ve been browsing this site for hours, diff topics etc, trying to figure out , what kind of ppl are in here, is this the place for singaporeans and pr only too...it says expat tho THEN i see this, someone actually managed to find a job, i do not know the whole story but, im glad.... maybe just maybe i can find smthing too...

People who write in such places are either regulars or these in need. If they are not in need any longer they do not write (typically). So surely there are more successful stories but better not get too optimistic. Adding to what was already said here, another way to get a job is via voluntary work. You will have much better insight to the job market and know the right ppl and job opportunities if you are already inside. My wife (still gf at that time) got her foot in this way while being on LTSVP.MesiMumm wrote:All the sudden i ve been browsing this site for hours, diff topics etc, trying to figure out , what kind of ppl are in here, is this the place for singaporeans and pr only too...it says expat tho THEN i see this, someone actually managed to find a job, i do not know the whole story but, im glad.... maybe just maybe i can find smthing too...

You are right about the "pay" bit, although I would not recommend being too picky when you are job hunting (assuming you are without a job at the moment in SG). I think if the role seems interesting then one can compromise on the pay bit, if only to get one's foot in the door. Its always easier to look for another job when you're already employed. As for pay, its really a matter of luck and a lot of searching.. like my friend told me: good paying jobs do exist and eventually you do the same work just get paid double (which is what he is doing now).
From my searching experience, local companies dont want to pay much in general, the market here is spoiled for locals.
And they can get workers for less.
a lot of keywords like "senior", "manage a team of x.." etc.. eventually turn out that the pay is the same like middle or below positions.. its quite frustrating and difficult to filter out the jobs this way.
In my personal case i am still earning some money from projects from overseas so its buying me time to search for something better.(assuming you are without a job at the moment in SG). You are right! i guess that is what i will probably do eventually hope i dont get too comfortableIts always easier to look for another job when you're already employed. Goodluck!
